I have it.

Attach a landmass between Nicaragua and Panama, join it up to Costa Rica (which is roughly the same size), and that's our nation. No land stolen, minimal damage to world map (especially when compared to Baltonia or Aurentina), and big enough for 5 million people (pretty huge), and ~$15,000 in GDP per capita. Wikipedia points to Costa Rica being 66% white, anyway, and the official language is Spanish. Perhaps splash in some extra offshore islands, too.

We might as well just play as Argentina.

If you were expecting English and French in Northern Venezuela, how would expecting the very same in Eastern Costa Rica be any less plausible?

The Caribbean Sea had plenty of French and English colonies. I believe Ainin's proposal covered this adequately.

Didn't we already vote on South America? Does that not exclude the Caribbean?

And Costa Rica is also pretty much South American, right?

Our interpretation of the vote was anywhere below Mexico, which includes the Caribbean.

The vote was on Latin/South America, so any territory included in either of those two regions would be acceptable. The Caribbean is not as a whole Latin American, just parts of it, but the proposals for a western Caribbean nation that have been floating around would be Latin American.

Just make it a spanish speaking country.

It's not like we are going to have to speak spanish or post in Spanish. It just symbolises that the characters we play will be speaking Spanish. For the record with the race issue. If people are too sorry to play as a native looking character than they can leave. People in South America are white.

Money wise. This is susposed to be about problems, solutions and an awful government. Not a Leftists wet dream, a white supremacists day dream or a Conservatives Paraphillia. Or at least not at the very begining.

I was hoping we'd get a bit more people. Liberated Territories is making a map of the area that I outlined.

Unfortunately the coast of Venezuela is so rugged that it would probably take 2 weeks to finish alone, so I've moved onto making a bunch of islands. The main island is turning out quite well so far.

If someone has Inkscape, then they could likely fill in the areas required from a map and then adjust it from there.

Geez, you'd make a good recruiter.

People in South America are white.

No, no they're not. In most of the continent, Native Americans and mixed Native-Europeans are the largest ethnic group.

No, it's about how most people want to start. If most people want to play in a social democratic wonderland or a white nationalist's wet dreams, then so be it.

Thanks for the effort regardless. And the population, what roughly 20 million? I like that much more.

Only six Latin American countries have more than twenty million inhabitants (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela), and for the most part, they're pretty large in area. Guatemala, Ecuador, and Chile have 16-17 million. Then there's a big dropoff to about 10-11 million (Cuba, Haiti, DR, Bolivia). I think 12 million or fewer is more realistic.
