I thought this was the discussion room for the senate reboot?

Some of us felt it would be beneficial for those most knowledgable on the most popular ideas to settle the biggest arguments among them to narrow the possibilities.
However, others feel this defeats the purpose of all of us discussing it, turning it into an exclusive decision of a select few.

All still agree that the Lobby is the actual decision-making thread. The formal debate is ongoing, and Nihil made another thread in response.

So yeah, I'm giving up on the dispatch. When I was writing it I struggled to say why the senate was good. Quite frankly, when you get to that stage, you don't see a purpose in continuing. I won't do a Belmaria/CTALNH and just quit and then come back later, but yeah, I've basically given up on the RP.

Perhaps we are just beating a dead horse here. Perhaps it is time to let this thread - and the very idea of NSGS - die and get on with our lives?

No. Do you know what?

I respect Britanno. I think they're brilliant and easily one of the best debaters and roleplayers here.
But Britanno declared Aurentina dead, and invoked agreement without explanation. Britanno declared Baltonia dead, and demanded agreement without explanation. There is nothing to stipulate the Senate cannot be revived.
We have been, currently are, discussing ways to create activity. In that kind of activity, we've hit rock-bottom — but that's why we're talking about increasing it.
Brit can't write a dispatch. There's just a line that won't fit right.

That is not indicative of the death of the senate.
I'm sorry, but I am not going to let the NSG Senate die because a respectable name says it should. I'm just not.

(Edit: checked the old Lobby, Glasgia pronounced it dead. Brit's been chosen as the scapegoat already, though. Can't go back now. My point stands.)

Like i said, if you build it, they will come. The only problem is we need dedicated people to build it. So we'll have a debate, and then vote on one of the four-five teams in an official, open to the public thread. This will hopefully happen next week. Once we settle on an idea (most likely the beginning of October), we can begin recreating the threads, the lobby, the chamber, etc. etc. Perhaps move some of the roleplay threads to PttM, like the pub, but otherwise the OOC, lobby, chamber, and party threads will remain here. (We want to conserve space too.) Then we'll have threads to decide on everything that won't be decided from launch, such as the flag, language, etc.

All I need is an endorsement of a mod on this...schedule and hopefully some help, since frankly I don't think only a few people can do this by themselves. WE NEED YOU for the NSGS. *Point*

I agree that it's time to toss in the towel. We had a good run, everyone enjoyed themselves, but we'd be better off ending it and going our separate ways. New RPs will always pop up to replace old ones, so it's probably best that we let a new crop take over.

I think it best to leave it to a younger generation. I'd like this to be resignation from the adminship. It has been an honor serving you and it was fun while we had a good run. Be proud of what we did here, we had something unique that defied everyone's worst wishes. We accomplished so much and prodded the human condition in many ways. We created something noble, and it deserves a noble burial.

I hope that some day we may meet again, but for now I bid you a goodbye, it was a pleasure.

Well if this means we can't come to a consensus, than I guess this is it. The pub will still be around, in fact I might open it up to non-senators. I guess I think I'll be handing in my resignation as an admin as well.

It's been fun, guys. See ya.

I'd just like to say right now that I won't be leaving until the NSGS dies. Anyways, to all that are potentially leaving, don't. This has much life in it, stay a part, the NSGS shall live on.

Um, I wasn't calling for the end of the senate, simply saying that I don't think I want to be a part of it anymore. I would say sorry to all those I've been a dick to, but truthfully, I don't regret much.

Thing is, we've made no progress in these discussions as to what's happening. I say rather than flog a dead horse, let it have a respectful end. Come back in six months and try again if you want. Let it have a rest for now.
