Really, so if you sent 1,000 of them, you'd only expect one person to join? Damn, even cover letters and resumes in the mail are probably more effective than that.

I'm not surprised, I can honestly say in the 18 months I have been on NS I have never read more than the first line that gets shown of a recruitment TG. That's if I have not set them to be blocked on the settings in the first place. Which on most of my accounts they are when I have remembered to do it.

I think we should at least try to move one or two relevant threads to PotM. I imagine that not only would F7 be slightly less crowded, but merely having a presence in another board could draw people in who normally never touch F7. We can always appeal this rationalization to the mods. We could keep the party threads in here.

I saw we keep all non-legislative RP on one thread, otherwise we'll have P2TM regulars up in arms.

That might be drive people away, having a hard time keeping track of their roleplays and what not.

TGs aren't really going to work IMO.

They could maybe bring back a few who left, but you're right in that we can't expect to actually recruit people to an RP.

I suppose we could write a dispatch and we all vote it up. Anyone who goes on dispatches will see it if it has enough up votes.

I say we move the applications thread to the Portal, but nothing else.

I don't think we need to advertise at all. The original senate started with just around ten people, and activity exploded in just a few days.
I started NS on Nov 6, 2011. I accidentally let my original nation die.

:eyebrow:

I think, if we want to encourage debating in the chamber we could move that the P2TM and all the proper RP threads with it. Coffee Shop might go with them, but lobby and party threads should definitely stay F7 unless the mods give permission.

Nihil and I have decided to revive the Aurentina Arms for the time being, as a way of keeping ourselves entertained.

I'm not expecting major controversy, but just as a head's up I'm including the UN Compromise as a sponsor in the NS Improviser (see my signature). An Admin should inform me if there's any objection to this, or if you'd be interested in having the actual NSG Senate as a whole be a sponsor.

Senate's dead, Fred. Unless you want to help me usher in a new age?

I am not sure if I could wait until November for the senate to come back up, actually.
