I agree that the tone wasn't exactly helpful, but I think he makes a good point.

Not really, most of that was bumbling nonsense.

A lot of the time they did not say anything. If they don't ask nobody is going to know they need/want help. the ones who asked questions generally stayed around and got involved much more and most of the time that questions were asked existing players were pretty helpful in answering them.

Though it'd be a small change, I think an enormous good that could be done would be updating the damned welcome thing. I mean, how long has that procedure been out of date? I almost left just after I came because the "Life of a Bill" explanation was not only vague and complex, but I was informed it was wrong anyway. The only reason I stayed was because the people in my party helped me get the idea of things.

Which is exactly what I am saying. Those who opened their mouths and asked questions got help and stayed. I think the FAQ thread could have been done better but as the famous Boris Jesus Johnson once said “Ask and you shall receive”.

In all honesty, I got the impression that nobody was actually using the FAQ, so I never updated it. I also don't think we can just expect people to ask, I remember being pretty embarrassed about having to ask about how things worked at first.

Good point. We should make reading the FAQ a requirement for joining.

Scratch that: people did read the FAQ. And it was the most helpless thing in the world.

I'm tossing the word FAQ around, so we're almost definitely referring to different things. I'm talking about the Life of an NSG Bill guide on the OP of every Chamber.

If there was an FAQ, I never heard of it until now, and I doubt I'm not the only one. That should highlight the real issue.

So...

Do you guys have any party ideas planned for the next reboot or is it to early?

It's never too early for me. I was thinking along with Union of making a pan-rightist free market party that accepts all regardless of social convictions, like the old CFE. Not only will this help "Unite the Right" *wink* but also solve the Libertarian question (how could a Libertarian party be so popular in a non-American nation?)

What? No.

I'm saying there needs to be a good detailed FAQ (not the one I drafted that was never updated) that is easily accessible (maybe in the OP of the 3 main threads). Making people read it is stupid. It should be there to help them when they need it, nobody should have to read it.

My OCD senses are tingling.

Mostly I have the...problem... of preplanning EVERYTHING due to habit and a whacked brain. But I can leave that to the start-up, I just want to speculate that's all.

Edit 2: That and I want to make sure that nobody is stealing my idea, although I kind of dug my grave for that one.

Nihil I appreciate the defence you've set up for me (although I must admit I myself believe the FAQ was pretty crap), but I genuinely believe NWO when he said that he thought the FAQ was the "life of a bill" thing.

We could still plan out a platform, name, etc... before we start. We just might have to make some minor changes based on the setting that the blank slate Senate chooses.

Pan-Socialist Alliance?

I think I may just create a party called Solidarity or something and leave it at that. Nice, blank name and hope to attract the majority of Socialists (and possibly Luxemburgists/Trotskyists).
