RP INTEREST AND FEEDBACK REQUEST

RP's Overarching Concept: A Rainbow Six-esque group hunting down vampires in modern day Kaliningrad/Königsberg.
Genre/s: Action, Crime, Thriller, bits of fantasy as well due to vampires.
Character or Faction Based: Character
Detailed Description:
ARTICLE 29: KALININGRAD

(Image)

"...the guarantee of perpetual peace is nothing less than that great artist, nature... In her mechanical course we see that her aim is to produce a harmony among men, against their will, and indeed through their discord. As a necessity working according to laws we do not know, we call it destiny. But, considering its designs in universal history, we call it "providence," inasmuch as we discern in it the profound wisdom of a higher cause which predetermines the course of nature and directs it to the objective final end of the human race."

Perpetual Peace: A Philosophical Sketch - Immanuel Kant

IC Thread
Theme

Kaliningrad, March 2016. Founded in the year 1255 by the Teutonic Order, the city of Königsberg, now the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, had seen its fair share of violence. After the fall of Marienburg Castle, it had served as the Order's headquarters. In 1944, it was bombed by the British Royal Airforce during two nighttime raids, and the city burned for days without end. What was left of it was almost completely wiped off the Earth in as Stalin's Red Army did battle to it, capturing it after three long days of battle. In July 2007, it was threatened that the Russian Federation would place nuclear weaponry in Kaliningrad Oblast if the United States were to place missile defense systems in Poland, although these plans were officially suspended early 2009. The city has known its fair share of conflict, and nowadays it is no different, the natural guarantee of peace Immanuel Kant wrote of long gone.

Vampires, the supposedly immortal lords of the night, are real - they always have been. Presumed but stories by the majority of the people on Earth, they reside hidden among us in society. Many of the myths told about them contain the truth, from their thirst for blood to their weakness for anything made of silver. One of these myths has been proven false. We know that they are not immortal. From a stake to the heart to a 12-gauge shotshell to the face, vampires can die and they can die messily. That is where we come in.

On Thursday the 12th of June, 2008, an agreement was signed in secret between most of the governments of the world through the United Nations. It was kept secret from the public, the information it dealt with considered to be too big a threat to public order. Dealing with the treatment of the supernatural, it was Article 29 of the accord that called for an international unit to be formed to deal with the vampiric menace. Two months later, on the 23rd of August, the Boiling Suns were founded, a unit made up of operators from throughout the world to combat the vampires throughout the world. Bases of operations were set up around known hotspots, and hidden from the eyes of the public, our war began.

Enter Kaliningrad. The ancient city of Königsberg has been unveiled to have a heavy vampiric presence, and as such it is here that the Boiling Suns Special Operations Group has now established a presence. That is where you come in - be you an new recruit or a veteran of several years, you have just arrived at our base of operations for Kaliningrad Oblast. You have been selected because we know you've got what it takes. Don't disappoint us.

Need Help With: Feedback, interest, any ideas. I'll be rewriting some parts of the above for a bit of a better flow, but it should get the concept across and serve as a decent enough introduction, I'll be using it in the OP.

I plan on making an Rp about tankery tournaments. It is much like Girls Und Panzer except that guys can join in the fray too and they use progressively more advanced tanks as the tournament progresses. FIrst round, WWII tanks, second round, post-WWII tanks, third, fourth, and fifth rounds, Cold War tanks, and for the sixth round, modern tanks(such as Abrams and the Derpkava)

Korhal, I think perhaps you need to ease off a little. I know you're obviously really keen to run your own roleplay but you're honestly not helping yourself by spitting out a new RP idea every day. So far You've made and abandoned two OPs in as many days, and that's just in the length of time I've been paying attention. That sort of thing tends to affect your reputation around here; people are gonna be wary of joining your role plays if they think you're likely to just drop them the moment a new idea pops into your head.

I've seen players do this before. One sticks in my mind; a guy from three years back who would post two or three new RP ideas a week as well as joining just as many others. The ones which actually got interest would inevitably die within a week as he conplained about writer's block and stopped posting. Eventually he frustrated enough people so badly that no-one wanted to work with him. So much of P2tM works on reputation; people having players they know and trust and want to work with, and this guy's rep was in the gutter. He's still around and fairly active and he's got much better but I know several people who would still be wary of RPing with him because of what he did to his rep years ago. I'm just telling you this so you can avoid going down a similar road.

A good idea some of the mentors like to suggest is the Seven Day Rule. When you come up with an idea you like, don't post it straight away. In fact, don't post anything; don't even ask if people would be interested yet. Wait seven days, let the idea develop in your head. If, after seven days, you still think this idea would make a good roleplay, then you can start posting about it, asking people if they're interested, seeking advice and finally drafting an OP. Because you've spent a week thinking on it, that idea's going to be really well developed in your mind; you'll know the selling points to get people interested; you'll know specifically what points to ask for advice on, and your RP will be much stronger for it.

I see him in the Restaurant from time to time and I think he might have a Star Wars RP on the go somewhere. He even submitted by far one of the the best looking apps for another RP I'd been looking to join a while back. Like I said, they guy's improved a bunch since the days I was having to kick his ass to get a barely passable app put together for my Fallout RP.

Ah, don't look up Crossed. Ever.

I think the big difference between the settings of SSSS and Crossed is that Iceland survived with half of its population alive and its government intact. There are people in the SSSS fan community that are of the opinion that the only reason why Scandinavia survived at all was that Iceland was there to provide supplies and technical expertise.

Your Syria: Fun in the Sun
Dealing with the Middle East quagmire the NS way

The world is in a messy state, this no one can disagree with, and the middle east is the subject of the world's attention. Rebels and terrorists mucking about in Syria/Afghanistan/Iraq and North Africa still dealing with corruption and terrorism. Business as usual right? Now it is 2016 and you have been placed in the seat of a global leader. It is your task to deal with the situation plaguing the entire world, the quagmire that is the middle east.

In this roleplay you will have to ability to select from the major world powers and the middle eastern and North African nations or even ISIS and rebel groups and attempt to change the course of modern history. The idea is to see how NS would solve the issues of the middle east and how might the various groups in the region might react. If need be I may take control of terrorist elements, but I want this to be organic.

So tell me what you think and maybe some suggestions to improve on the idea.

Addendum 1: I just got the idea that periodically I will post the real world developments on the issue and compare them with what we are doing in the Roleplay.

I know this isn't much of an advertising thread, but I've had a lot more fun writing for this RP than for most. So, if you have an interest in alternate history and time travel you should come read the OP for New Civilizations: Rome.

The idea is this: You're from the year 2100 and the world is a utopia. Life is literally 100% leisure time, bloodborne nanobots make you immune to plagues of any kind and you're immortal because of it. Life is great, and you're sick of it. So you bring at most three relatively transportable pieces of technology from the future and sneak/bust your way into a secret base with a time machine. After dodging guards and lasers and whatever you finally set the dial to 2000 years in the past.

100 CE.

And you choose where in the world you go, and hilarity ensues. The mods are good at retconning extremely unrealistic stuff, though.

For example, I have a large nation of Chinese immigrants and assimilated natives in California that uses steam power and has the actually historically accurate Chinese genius Zhang Heng as a second-in-command.

So yeah, you all should check it out, it isn't as professional as other RPs but is really fun.

RP Idea

Postby Tokuopolis » Sat Apr 09, 2016 1:16 pm

Anyone else interested in a Zootopia Roleplay?

RP INTEREST AND FEEDBACK REQUEST
Please provide as much detail as possible.
RP's Overarching Concept: Police and Criminals in Zootopia, a city of anthropomorphic mammals.
Genre/s: Furry, Film Noir, Comedy, Buddy Cop, Adventure
Character or Faction Based: Character based
Detailed Description: Zootopia is a diverse city with multiple biomes, such as tundra town, Sahara Square and the rainforest district. Mammals of all kinds live in Zootopia. Zootopia was founded on the ideal that anyone can be anything, and that animals have moved past speciesism and stereotypes. Sadly, there is still lots of discrimination in Zootopia, and plenty of dangerous criminals in general. It's up to the ZPD to protect the city. Will they succeed? Or will the criminal underworld continue to hold power?

Need Help With: Garnering interest.

RP INTEREST AND FEEDBACK REQUEST
Please provide as much detail as possible.
RP's Overarching Concept: Life during the 3/11 Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
Genre/s: Survival, real life.
Character or Faction Based: Character based.
Detailed Description: Basically in the RP you will take control of someone who is in Japan. The earthquake and tsunami will be occurring during the RP and you will have to RP how it is affecting your character/ what they're doing. Basically the story of someone's life during the event. Will only take place in Japan and in areas that are affected in some way.

Need Help With: Don't really need help, I've got the idea sorted out. Just want to know if anyone is actually interested in something like this.

Please leave this hashtag in place: #Mentorhelp

Honestly the idea seems in very poor taste to me.

Well, it's an RP about a historical event. As long as it's not a comedy RP, I believe this sort of thing is fine. Even important. After all, they're working on an art form, not just a game.
The name's James. James Usari. Well, my name is not actually James Usari, so don't bother actually looking it up, but it'll do for now.
