As someone who's currently in two RP's that I joined relatively late, it's really not as difficult as it might seem, generally if the title says it's still open then they'll be happy to work you in. Starting your own rp has the disadvantage that everyone who wants to be in a hogwarts rp is likely already in the currently running one, it's limiting your audience. Up to you though, I never want to discourage anyone from running with an idea they think is good.

Oh, okay! I'll give it a try , and if I find it too confusing and such I'll think about maybe making my own. Thanks!

We can say that I'm not entirely against cyberpunk, but I'm not entirely supporting it. Because I have really little experience with cyberpunk RP. Or Sci-Fi RP in general.

Due to their regrettably low rate of occurence, I have decided to make a mechanics based RP group.

Just wondering what you guys thought.

Hell everyone I was wondering if this sounds like a good idea before I pour time into this also if anybody is interested. It would be set on a jungle moon full of life but most of it is deadly to humans. The reason people have come to this moon is to mine the rare element found their that can power whole cities for weeks with just a tiny amount of it. However the moon is deadly with the natives being a barbaric society and with humans coming closer to find the element the more they are killed in horrific ways. The player would be troops set to the moon to protect the mining of the element and to elimate any hostile threat of course there is much more to the moon then that.

This was just a very rough draft and if you can give me ideas that would be great. I want this to have a good lore but also don't want to spend hours if no one is interested in it. Thank you for feedback in advance.

RP INTEREST AND FEEDBACK REQUEST
Please provide as much detail as possible.
RP's Overarching Concept: RPers form small pantheons of gods which create Champions, who interact with other champions upon the world of Aeryc. Those champions will fight against each other, form alliances, and discover/use their powers which are lesser versions of those of their gods. Both magic and technology are present in the world of Aeryc, and those with less magic have more tech, and vice versa. Technology, how ever, will only go up to matchlocks/pistols, and perhaps early cannons. Magic and technology may be mixed, but those who do so will have less of it and will be hindered.
Genre/s: Fantasy, MagicvTech, Champions of Gods.
Character or Faction Based: Character/Faction - RPers may have their created champions create factions/nations, though the RP will remain predominately character-based.
Detailed Description: In the beginning, far before any of us can imagine, there was an entity, Aeryc. The lonely god of all had previously created a world, but there was only darkness upon it. The living beings, if they could be called living, for they were not truly sentinent, stayed in their dark, deep pits and dungeons, some of which reached the very core of the world, the earth Aeryc had made. And there they had stayed in eternal slumber, having no notion of the existence of life, and that they themselves were alive.

After thousands of years, Aeryc grew weary, and so standing above the world he had made, split his essence into hundreds of pieces. The doing of this caused a great light, a light which penetrated the darkest of the pits and dungeons, and so the beings awoke from their eternal slumber, and beheld the light. At first they hid from it, but they adapted, and soon emerged to the surface, beholding life. For animals frolicked and walked upon the earth now, and there were plants too, great tall things which they called trees. But the beings were still without shape, soul or voice, still.

The splitting of Aeryc's essence had created the sun, and also deities, the Valras, lesser in power than Aeryc, but still far above that of those who dwelt on the world of Aeryc. And these deities, these gods gave themselves names, and then went down to the world of Aeryc, and shaped the beings, giving them shape, face, soul, voice and more. And the Valras also gave them a share of their power, and imparted much knowledge unto those who they named their champions. The first of the Valras were those who created the Valmari/Lunmari, known to all as the Eldar, the Edalie, or by their common name, the elves. Many more Valras came, and shaped their own beings, some after the fashion of the Valmari, and some entirely opposite to the elves.

And after the champions were created, the Valras departed, forming their own world high above the world, which is now called Aeryc. And the realm of the gods is called Elenda. And so, the champions of the Valras went to their own business, some forming great civilizations, learning to use their gifts and powers, for both good and ill. And as their powers grew, so did war, upon the world of Aeryc.

I was thinking of converting the Protoverse into a cyberpunk kind of setting, although I couldn't decide on which timeperiod would be better, the 199X or 200X.

199X, would be more of the typical dystopic 80's setting for it, but 200X is far more totalitarian than previous.

Would anyone be interested in this idea I cooked up?

RP INTEREST AND FEEDBACK REQUEST
Please provide as much detail as possible.
RP's Overarching Concept: Rule/Grid based turn based strategy RP in the 40k setting
Genre/s: Survival, Sci-fi, Grim Dark, RIP AND TEAR, Warhammer 40k
Character or Faction Based: Ummm, not exactly sure.
Detailed Description: See below

Need Help With: Interest/the system I have created for it.

Please leave this hashtag in place: #Mentorhelp
---------------------------------------------------------

Warhammer 40k: The Last Stand.

Map:http://i4.minus.com/jbojJNPv4ngBTH.JPG

Legend:
Purple=Medicae facility
Red Stars= Automated turrets
Light Brown= Doors
Green = enemy spawn
Orange= Armoury
Blue with black centre= Vehicle depo
Grey= barricades
Yellow= assembly line.

Basics:
Welcome to the Manufactorum, a factory built by the disciples of the Machine God and made to churn out as much war material as possible.
However it is likely going to be your grave, for you random idiots managed to corner yourself against the full might of an Ork WAAAUGH! which turned up admist a Tyranid fleet landing.
Thus your last stand..

However you have some luck, there is a vehicle depo with two Chimera, a Leeman Russ Punisher and a Sentinel Walker as well as a medical facilities, an armoury and a series of small turrets and an armoury. Your Objective is to survive as long as possible and try to get along in the meantime.

Question is who are you?

Rules:
Every Player character has 100 points of health and 50 armour, enemy fire will do both armour and health damage, taking off a bit of both.
Ranged combat is maxed out at 40 metres for non upgraded classes, Melee combatants can toss their weapons at the foe over a distance of 15 meters, basic movement speed per turn is 10 meters, a meter is 1 square.

Each player needs to save a copy of the map, place their dot on it then post it for the next person to save and add their dot (has to cover only 1 square) which represents their character(s), then they organize the order in which they move their characters, when every player has moved/done their actions for that turn the turn is over and the enemy make a move, so forth until one side is dead. As the game progresses people post and save the map and the dots while making their move so others can then do their actions, OP or a volunteer takes control of the Orks/Tyranids who will be mostly of the fodder type enemies.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Now here is the App:

Character Race:
Name of Character:
Class:
Equipment/ additional skills: (500 pts worth)

Races:

Space Marine- Perks: Angel of Death: as an Angel of death you are the perfection of the Emperors vision for super soldiers and as a result you get 100 more points to health and another 25 to armour and can take heavy weapons as if they were two handed ones. Space Marines start each Wave with one (1) Fatal Point.

Imperial Guardsman- Perks: Ten More will take his place!: Every Imperial Guard player can make two Guardsmen characters to use, and are the only players able to use double team weapons (EG: Tri-pod Heavy Bolters, Infantry Mortars, Las cannons.

Eldar:-Perks: Aspect Warrior: Having followed many paths throughout life a veteraned Eldar is almost equal to a Space Marine of comparable age, as a result they have 50 more points of health and have either the psyker flame (10 meters range doing 30 damage. Warlocks or Farseers only) Or the Insurmountable Speed perk (additional 11 meter move range once per wave)

Adeptus Mechanicus Techpriest- Perks: Disciple of the Machine God: As an Adept of the glorious Machine God you gain 50+ armour and 25+ health for your fleshy bits, in addition your skills are needed to reactivate and repair various functions of the facility to hold out against both the swarm and Orkoid threat. (success of the repair will be done via D6 from OP by the end of the turn the fixing began)

Chaos Marine- Perks: Astartes of self Will: Being a Warrior of the forces of Chaos and an Astartes at that each Chaos Marine gets 100 more points to health, 25 to armour and gain the "mutation" ability, allowing a Marine who prays to their god of choice for 1 turn to gain a temporary combat mutation (Flame breath: 10 metres for 40 damage, Warp Tallons: Power weapon, Warp Wings: 40 movement points+ 1 attack per 10 meters travelled) depending on a dice roll of D6 by OP. Can only be used once a wave.

---------------------------------------------------------

Classes:

Medic: A person trained in the arts of healing people, each medic has enough medical supplies to heal 2 people 25 points of health a wave, to get more they need to visit the Medicae facility (Purple star) (Cannot be taken by Techpriest)

Psyker: A Psyker is a mystic that can call upon powers inhuman and terrifying. Gain access to the folowing powers (Warp Fire: 8 meters doing 50 damage, Warp Lightening: 15 meters, Psyker punch 60 damage) Note: all Psykers can only use one power a turn or else risk succumbing to the Warp. (D6 roll on how much health you loose and another for how many demons spawn.)

Brawler: An expert in melee combat, all Brawlers gain 10+ to damage with their melee weapons and can absorb 10 pts of health/armour damage

Marksman: Each Marksman is skilled beyond his lessers in the art of placing a shot in a foe's head. As such they can shoot two additional targets a turn and fire a further 10 metres than other classes.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Equipment: (Still under works)

Las Weapons:

Las Pistol - 5 pts, 15 damage. Overcharged - 40 pts, 60 damage
Las Rifle - 15 pts. 30 damage. Hot shot Lasrifle- 50 pts, 70 damage

........................................................................//

Additional: This is still in the thought/basic outline stages, and I would welcome any person or group to make comments about what could be changed/edited.

I love that concept Gamilus- throw it over into the Mechanic's Guild, or slap it up in the 40k RP group. Probably the lads in both would love it. I'm certainly on board.

Thanks G-Tech, that means alot comming from someone of a great renown as you. I shall take it to them in the morning!

Also I think I already have an RP advertised by the Mechanic's Guild.

Pfff we can always take more. Just let me know when the OOC goes up.

I'm going to be doing a "Scared Straight" RP. Basically, teens who are out of control get to spend a week in a state prison with the inmates. Players get to play as the teens, inmates, and the police. Would anyone be interested?

Glad to hear it. Should be coming up in a couple of days. I'll send those interested a TG when it's up.

Might be a couple days before I join though.

I shall, just a little worried about the fine tuning. :unsure:
Do you hear the posters sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of the short OP
that won't be seen again!

When the mods find this OP
Then this thread will be no more,
But the song will be sung again
When another comes!

OP, do you know the way?
Know the way to fix your post?
Just add details and sources to spark
Debate on these forums.

Otherwise this thread is doomed
Doomed to death by modly wrath
NSG will pick up and move on
'Till another comes!
