Yes. Hijras are a caste of third-gendered people in India. Night, being from India, has stated his intention to obliterate utterly anyone who makes an RP set in India, because it would be too inaccurate.

So let's not set RPs anywhere else than the country we live in, or what...?

Trust me, beyond the War of 1812, the Rebellions of 1837, the Red River Rebellion and the October Crisis it's all pretty boring.
This has got me thinking though, an RP based around the October Crisis going tits up and turning into a literal shooting war between Canada and Quebecois nationalists.

Please provide as much detail as possible.
RP's Overarching Concept: I'm trying to make an RP inspired by, but not set in, the Malazan Book of the Fallen series. My aim is for it to share a lot of themes and ideas with Malazan, while being able to appeal to people who are not familiar with the series (and avoiding unattractive things like copy-pasting lore and characters from the series, used rigidly and unimaginatively). The series involves great wars, the rise and fall of empires, the affairs of gods, and a wide world filled with ancient mysteries ready to be unfolded.
Genre/s: Epic Fantasy
Character or Faction Based: Character Focused, Faction Influenced
Detailed Description: I hope you don't mind Google Docs.
Need Help With: Putting the RP together, to an extent. I am known, elsewhere at least, for my expansive OPs and so I typically have no problem with this step. However, I'd like other people who are familiar with the series and what I'm trying to achieve to provide their input, and perhaps collaborate with me to make cohesive lore before I'm ready to move this forward.
Either that, or to tell me that I'm focusing on the wrong things and I need to reevaluate how I approach making an RP.

Aside from that, I can't help you much. I don't know about the Malazan Book of the Fallen series, I'm afraid. That said, I don't think you're approaching this the wrong way. Exposition is good, and given how you're basing your RP off of an existing series, it is best to explain the canon you want to be part of your RP as much as possible.

Thanks, it's nice to have my exposition validated.
To be clear, none of the lore in my draft is from the series itself. I am making, from the ground up, a distinctly similar world which is entirely its own. Which is why I said inspired by an existing series, but not based, since it isn't actually based in the setting itself.
Edit: And I'm really looking for some people, whether they're familiar with the series or not, who are interested enough in what I have to perhaps become involved in helping me complete the lore. It might actually be beneficial to have someone unfamiliar with the inspiration material, as an unbiased eye.

And, well, that does explain a lot. Then I'll commend you for making all that up. It also makes the whole thing feel more flexible, since now I know it's not based on the books' lore, though that bit is honestly just my opinion.
If it's brainstorming you'd like some help with, I may not be too readily available (not right now, for example), but I'm willing to help you, if you tell me what parts of the lore and such you would like some assistance with. It doesn't seem like your lore is lacking much so far though, aside from the obvious bits (species).

Flexibility was the goal ^_^
I might actually slow down, I started work on that OP last night and it sort of burned me out. If I work more patiently (not my strong suit) I might take you up on the offer when you have more time on your hands. I am really in no rush, now that I think about it.

That would be a wise decision. Rushing things is usually not a good idea.
You might do well to poke around and see if some other people might be interested in this, your friends and such. Not everyone in P2TM frequents the café after all.
