RP's Overarching Concept: Mixed character-faction RP set in the early Middle Ages, year 867.
Genre/s: Historical, Warfare, Court Politics, Medieval
Character or Faction Based: Both - CK2-esque
Detailed Description: This RP will draw most of the mechanics from Sunset of Europe, but it won't be related to it story wise. This is a standalone mixed RP. For those new to the genre, in mixed nation-character RPs, you control a ruler. Or, more accurately, his dynasty, but that is beside the point. You control most of the matters of the state - raise and control troops, collect taxes, deal with vassals, go to war, etc., but a major focus is on your character's life: educating your children, giving good tumbles to your
The RP will start in 867, with a 1 year/page time movement. It might sound fast, but the game does not end when you die or lose a title - unless you are out of territory or out of children, the game will go on. As I was saying, the RP will start in 867. Charlemagne is long dead, and most of Western Europe is divided between seven Karling kingdoms. They constantly bicker with each other, but in the case of a foreign invasion, they wouldn't hesitate to help each other. A charismatic and clever ruler in one of the seven states can use his family ties to recreate the Empire and follow Charlemagne's footsteps.
With the death of the legendary Ragnarr Lothbrok, his sons have sailed to Albion and are ready to avenge him, and loot everything they can see. Why kneel to the Christian gods when you can pillage and loot their rich temples? In the other side of Europe, Rurik and Dyre are carving out their kingdoms in the lands of Rus. The Abbasid Caliphate is now only limited to the Levant and Mesopotamia, long after it's glory days, but not all hope is lost. The Muslims still hold a large foothold in Spain, but the kings of Asturias are prepared. Who shall rise to greatness, and who shall bite the dust?
TL;DR - Crusader Kings 2 multiplayer game with The Old Gods expansion.
