As in, RP about the life of high schoolers in their school, with all the stuffs experienced while in high school, albeit with little to no villains and more about the life in high school?
I remember that they were quite popular at one point in time. I wasn't around then, but my friend told me.
But they've been pushed out by more fantasy-themed RPs.

Fantasy RPs have always been popular. There are, of course, different trends, but proto-P2TM may as well have been built on the fantasy genre.

Well, true, but fantasy has been becoming more and more dominant over the years.
Oh, and nation RPs. Those are also being slowly pushed out.

Kudos.

As I said, there are trends.
And tbh, nation RPs have never been that popular. They have a relatively small base in this community.

I once made a dieselpunk fantasy nation RP where every country was on the back of different turtles, and the peoples of the world were spread by dragons, AKA mesoreptilians.
Suck it, person whose name cannot be pronounced.

Well, some time ago they were much more common. Just think of the 19th century threads we had!
Also, for one more example of changing trends, teen superheroes. Just remember the death of Of Men and Titans - that just marked the change.

They probably never survive for more than a few weeks, really. Which is why they're pretty rare.

The 18th-20th century threads period were a small fad that even I got somewhat annoyed at. I wouldn't say they meant to much for the overall trend.
I'd say that nation RPs have always been about 37.5%-25% of the community, which is actually still reflected fairly well on the front page even now.
I mean, if you want to go back to say, here, you can count the proportion, or even go back further. The thing about them is that they are as different to character RPs as some subforums are to others. They're not a genre so much as a format.Gvozdevsk wrote:I still see most nation RPs as poorly made with plots somewhere along the lines of "its the present day ww3 started russia is communist again pick a country im usa"

You're using a decimal. That's super accurate shit right there.
