Does a Slice of Life RP ever succeed or ever happening here?

As in, RP about the life of high schoolers in their school, with all the stuffs experienced while in high school, albeit with little to no villains and more about the life in high school?

I remember that they were quite popular at one point in time. I wasn't around then, but my friend told me.
But they've been pushed out by more fantasy-themed RPs.

Fantasy RPs have always been popular. There are, of course, different trends, but proto-P2TM may as well have been built on the fantasy genre.
