I recently realised I actually put a lot of thought in them and which accents which characters have. I realised this as I explained why I gave the big bad of Elfen High a Southern English accent. Of course, many people might not give a damn about accents at all.
I sometimes do, but it tends to be more about "this character has this background and is from this place and that would result in this accent".
That said, for example, I haven't specified this, but, for example, the older Caspian gets, the closer his accent is to the midwestern American "standard", because I believe this is the most neutral accent possible in the English language -- a thought supported by how to my ears, people who are singing usually sound like they're singing in an American accent regardless of their speaking accent.

I watched a game of the REAL AMERICAN football today (although it was with Canadian rules which are only slightly different) and it was far more entertaining than any soccer game could ever be, even if it was just a lame pre-season game.
This is war.

I think I've analysed the secret to its success.
1. Great OP
2. Unique setting (real world, late 19th century, which until then no one had done)
3. Zero restrictions on application
4. Successors willing to keep the project alive

I am wondering, why are there no Assassins and Templars, or similarly themed secret organizations, operating in our IC nations throughout recorded history. That would be a lot of fun. Would anyone be willing to start an ICly secret society with me on NS?

This is a good idea (and one I've actually pondered quite a bit, on and off), but it should probably be in II...shouldn't it?

I hear people in that section are very pretentious and don't like you if you don't make everything in your nation from scratch and by yourself and instead just borrow from popular culture.
