REPPY SEZ: Yup, my sister's 3rd floor apartment kinda rolled gently for about a minute. Long enough to start complaining that it was taking for-bloody-ever. Certainly a damn sight more enjoyable than my last major earthquake in 1994!

I love earthquakes! The fact that the earth moves in unexpected ways which allows us to lean more about it is awesome!

Its called the San Andreas: Live near it. DISCLAIMER: I am in no way or in any circumstance recommending you should live near the San Andreas Fault. In fact, you really shouldn't.

REPPY SEZ: Funny enough, neither the Northridge quake nor the Baja quake were ON the San Andreas fault. Both were on smaller faults in the area, but not on the San Andreas itself. The SoCal region is riddled with the things, partially because the San Andreas turns substantially more eastward from its generally southeast run north of Los Angeles. The result is a snag where the North American and Pacific plates aren't quite sliding past one another and instead crashing into one another. They can't slide easily past , so the area around that snag is riddled with cracks- hundreds, if not thousands of smaller fault lines in a variety of flavors.

Stupid SAF bending that way. Though one of the more dagerous faults is not the San Andreas, but the San Jacinto fault, which does run into the SAF. REPPY SEZ: Actually, that one isn't that new. I made it a couple of months back as a visual to complement the mod team's general attitude about the "NSG Liberation Front" and its threats to keep attacking the site until we caved in to their demands. The idea being that at least my response to "OMG GONNA GRIND U DOWN THROUGH ATTRITION!" in such a case would be "YAY I GET TO KILL STUFF! " Also, here's the hi-res version of the sigpic. I had entirely too much fun bloodying up my avatar like that.
