There is literally only one Ruridovan monarch to bear the title: Aethalwulf of Rissex, who earned the title for uniting Albion under his rule and thus creating the kingdom that would become Ruridova a millenium after his reign. Not Baldwin, who was the first Ruridovan king to control any part of the mainland. Not Stephen, famed for his bravery in the Crusades and admired by both sides. Not Katharine I, who saw Meerselen, Tourolingua, and Andalvarria added to the country, and fostered the flourishing of culture and naval power. Not Alexandra, who saw the young Ruridovan Empire come into control of an empire of a size not seen since the Mongol Khanate. Not Alexander VI, who was king during the Second World War and who conquered a stutter to inspire the Ruridovan people to fight on. Aethalwulf, who united part of an island, who set off a chain of events of such magnitude that he could not have guessed what it would lead to. Not a king of great pomp and strength and respect, nor a queen of imperial might and regal splendor.
