"Alright, team! You deploy at 0600. Any questions?"

"Uh, who are you?"

"I'm afraid that's classified. Technically, I don't exist. I'm not here... we never had this briefing."

"We didn't have a briefing."

"Good saur."

"No, really. You just walked in and said we were to leave at 0600."

"No, I didn't."

"But we don't even know where we're going."

"I'm afraid that's strictly need-to-know."

"But how are we supposed to get there if we don't know where we're headed?"

"You should know what your group's called: GLAM."

"GLAM?"

"Giant Lemmings and Milkduds."

"What is that even - how does that - how does that explain anything?"

"It's a codename, it doesn't have to make sense."

"Alright, alright. So, once we get there, what are we supposed to do?"

"Classified, I'm afraid. Sorry."

"But officially, we wouldn't even be there. And so, officially, we wouldn't be doing anything, right?"

"Now you're getting it."

"So, at 0600, we won't officially leave and we won't officially do anything."

"Affirmative."

"Before we begin, I'm going to place myself in the camp of the agnostic. I know not the world beyond our mortal realm, and I will not claim to know. However, as history shows, divine law makes the lessers happy, while uppers can carry on doing what they do best without fear of the lessers. If God has such power to benefit certain people, wouldn't it be the rich man's first priority to invent him? The greedy king? The fearful landowner?"

"Taking every vital benefit away from the poor in order to cut taxes for the rich does not create a meritocracy, it creates an aristocracy. We have seen this in every nation fool enough to try it.
So not only is it not humane, it's not noble, and in the long run it benefits no one.
In other words, if you believe in the capitalist dream of hard work being rewarded, of fair competition and of everyone being able to reach greatness through hard graft and ingenuity... You are not a libertarian."

"Umbracium films have often been described as visual novels; not because of the content but because of the sheer length. In the year of 12013 the average film produced was four hours and thirty five minutes in length, with a standard deviation of an hour and twenty five minutes. This was actually down from the previous year. They're very slow compared to many foreign films; one seven hour film took place entirely in one room, and had three different actors with major speaking roles. It was also one of the highest grossing films that year. The surrealist genre also abounds among the biggest film makers; you'll frequently be in for a day's ride that will leave you confused and unsettled in ways you never thought you could be. One particularly incensed foreign viewer described all the Umbracium films they had seen as 'grungy fuck-fests as lost as the producers' souls.'

It is true though, compared to other nation's films Umbracium ones tend to be highly erotic in nature, while comparatively scaled back in violence. Despite firearms appearing in over ninety percent of films with human characters, in only twelve percent of those films are the weapons ever used. Less than one percent of which the weapon is used aggressively, often it's a film exploring the hopelessness and terror that violence creates. This is a far cry from the typical Hollywood flick where the protagonist casually strolls away from a limb-shattering explosion without so much as having a hair ruffled.

"Capitalism is a system which requires large wealth margins to function. It requires that 95% of the wealth be amassed by the top 5% of society. It is a system built on exploitation, greed, and purely self-interest. Oh, sure, they say that everyone has the opportunity to climb to the top, but they don't. If everyone did, it wouldn't be the top anymore. Democratic Socialism, on the other hand, where the economy is made up of worker cooperatives rather than private corporations and salaries are decided based on how difficult your job is rather than how high your position is, is not built on these things; therefore, it is not a grossly immoral system. It is within our human nature to work together, as much as the Capitalists would have us believe otherwise."

"Freedom to own firearms? Oh, in all honestly, I don't really see why not. It's not like we won't still have an incredibly well-armed police force to stop violent criminals with guns. Heck; let people own tanks, for all I care. If one of them goes crazy in a tank, we have ATGMs. And I imagine a few of the citizens will do too...

What's that? I'm not a proper socialist for advocating gun freedoms? Oh, please. The economy is organized in a leftist democratic way, so what are you complaining about?"

"Umbracium films tend to give very subtle cues about the content of the rest of the film. A near universal technique is one that gauges the 'energy level; of the film. In the first five minutes of any given film, look for a drug of any kind. If it's a stimulant, even just a bag of coffee grind or a Styrofoam cup of the substance, it's going to be a high intensity film. If it's a depressant on the other hand - alcohol is a popular one - the film is going to be much slower moving and often very depressing in nature." - Doctor of Cinematography, Dr. Crysls
