In any case, political correctness in any reality is a critique of anything that can be deemed political. In a way, it can only survive in a politically free environment.

However, political correctness is not the best way to handle certain social issues. First off certain people have heavy misconceptions of the very concept of political correctness, and those that do utilize such a concept may or may not be fully in the know to use it properly. In such a case, mutual dialogue or even a simple question of permission would suffice, and would clear up any misconception between the participating parties.

Such is the case with subjective concepts. Besides, understanding all sides from all angles is beneficial, even if one believes it is not.
