Have you tried to find the upper assembly on e-bay or another online retailer? Perhaps Gallo can fix it, and it's not that hard to disassemble either. There's about 10 or 12 screws supporting it and the upper assembly comes all off at once.

With the laptop being white you won't find much issue finding the upper assembly for it.

I tried, that's the thing. The entire upper casing where the keyboard and the track pad is located would have to be replaced. Entirely.
