I am Presbyterian, and still deserve my 1%. I will need a committee to decide what to do with my earnings, but first I will create a committee to deliberate over the creation of the other committee. Then there needs to be a committee that makes sure the other committee does its job. Then a committee that makes sure that the other committees get fed a lunch everyday. Plus as committee needs to be created for the sole purpose of deciding who to hire to make that lunch or where to purchase lunch from. Because of that, there will need to be a committee to research the local places that specialize in food delivery.

That makes, what? Six committees, so another committee will be created to make that 7 committees.

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

The most fundamental problem of politics is not the control of wickedness but the limitation of righteousness.

No, I was just describing the internal structure of the Presbyterian faith and our love of committees. There is literally a committee for everything, and you better bring a notebook for taking important notes during Committee Sunday..

There isn't really a committee for everything.. It is a joke among Presbies because of the committees.

We have our Session that is the main leading body of my church. My church itself probably has seven committees tops.. our sister church, Bethpage, has twelve.

Yes, they do, at least at our two churches.

All our committees are somehow related to the happenings of our church. There was briefly a committee that was solely made to decide where our youth mission trip would be this year: New Orleans!
