Wish I could fix it. I downloaded a Windows 8 ISO to a flash drive (note to self, need to download an 8.1 ISO and replace it) and used that to perform a clean install of 8 (the product code is embedded onto the motherboard, no need to have it)
If you want to save your files, you'll need to buy a proper hard drive enclosure (3.5" for desktop HD, 2.5" for laptop) and transfer the ones you want to another computer, and then to external storage, replace the hard drive, and then perform the clean install. I also recommend formatting the drive and then creating a GUID partition table, to be safe and create stability, and then perform a clean install using the flash drive (need to create a bootable ISO on it, requires another Windows computer,) IMMEDIATELY CREATE A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT, and then install all the other Windows updates, then go to the store and install the 8.1 update (creating a system restore point after the updates, and then the 8.1 update.)

Well lets see, flatmates decide to move out meaning I have to rush and find a place to move into. So I apply to accommodation at my uni. Don't get back for awhile. Today the landlord is telling us to be out by six, so I've had to rush pack, without not having enough luggage/bags, as I knew full well I'd probably have to make two trips. Called my landlord to say I needed to stay an extra night and that'd I'd be out by tomorrow morning. Lol nope. Despite me being the less shitty flatmate to him. In fact me and the landlord never had any problems or arguments. Yet my flatmates were such arseholes to him that he wants nothing to do with us anymore.
