Probably very little. We have much stronger trade links with large gas producers such as Norway, the US, Canada or the Netherlands.

It's a world market with one price. Where it comes from is totally irrelevant. Russia produces 20% of world gas and 14% of oil. There is no way that cutting this off would not see huge price rises in both markets due to demand. World demand would still be the same but supply would have been cut by a massive 5th. Expect large price rises if that happens.

EDIT: Oh look Glas you just fucked the poor over with high energy prices again.

economics are compliacted man. So yeah et the nigh-experts deal with it. I still say cooperate and just leave them alone. Russia will do what they want, Uka and US are pussies at this point. They will "fix" Ukraine in the sense tat Ptin will bring stability.

No. That'll make us look stupid when we just can't say no to the United States (although we could thanks to weak Obama). It's not in our interests to piss off the EU like Belarus. Standing with the EU and the US is the best thing to do and acting with them in sanctions and such.

In fact, it's probably about time, in my opinion, to get on track with seeking NATO membership.

The Senate has already rejected NATO membership, unless this changed since I left.

A resurgent mother Russia is something we should be a bit afraid of. Georgia the country is liable to join NATO at this rate now.

Russian invasion of Aurentina isn't going to happen. We're not Georgia.

Exactly. i don[t thnk we have to worry about invasion by the US o r Russia. The only interest we really have is proitability in peace time, so let's let zRssia do its thing in the zukraine.

We have no reason to intervene and anyway Russia currently I feel has rightful claims on the Crimea and if the people want Russia to annex them let them do so.

I'd like to direct our president and prime minister and gathered senate to this article, before they approve any anti-Russia moves: http://m.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-26426961

Other nations aren't taking as "hardline" a stance as they claim too, and we too should avoid any rash decisions.

But where is the evidence that the people of Crimea want to be Russian?

What Crimea needs is a democratic referendum that takes place without Russian influence or intimidation (ie. Russian troops piss off for a bit) and the people decide. If they choose to be Russian, then I'll agree.

Currently however, Russia has no rights over Ukraine and its rule there is illegitimate.
