I think we're having a fairly civil conversation on it, besides a few posts that have gone too far.

i'm not so sure, gren is getting pounded for what moderation did ask us to do. I wouldnt go about it the way he is, ..... but it has been a moderation request.

Again, all I'm hearing is criticism, and no alternative solutions.

*sigh* something written definitively would probably help, something we could link to as proof, rather than having a person saying "naughty, naughty". A new form of mod to enforce? Not with full mod capabilities, but with enough authority that we would concede?

Moderation on multiple occasions has asked for self policng of this thread, I think it is a horrible idea, but it is what they asked. In that sense Gren is only doing what has been asked of the user community.

You know, I think all of this can be settled with a moderator's voice. I'm going to take this debate to Moderation and see what they think of it. Our debate has been civil and fair, but it's clearly not going to be resolved through any words between us.

I know that, and it makes me feel sad and irrelevant. But unfortunately those feelings will not change anything, and it would still be a bad idea to discuss whatever you want to discuss with random strangers.

You aren't irrelevant. All it is is that I don't wish to talk to you about deep things like me wishing to be dead, is all. I don't want you to feel unimportant.

I'm almost 16! Look at how grown up I am! I can handle that! Joking aside, there's little you could do about changing my insecurities. You don't need to bother with it, especially when you have much bigger problems to deal with yourself. I wouldn't want to pester you with my own wishes to feel inherently relevant by talking to other people about their deepest problems.

My qualm is exactly this. It's being detracting in general about the whole thing and this is going nowhere because some of us feel like drilling the point, while others feel it's not such a big deal.
