I wonder why same style of corny/cheesy lyrics that I might like in English feel intolerably embarrassing in finnish. :lol:

My friends and I sometimes, when we are bored, translate the lyrics of a popular English song to Dutch. Hilarity ensues.

I don't even mean translations. I take example a one song by local Band Kivimetsän Druidi. Song was Finnish from start and had so corny lyrics I couldn't bear listening. Yet similarly cornness English songs never bothere me in slightest. :p
