I agree doing away with pre-existing conditions, but I want tort reform as well.

Just his main works or the entire thesis? If it's the latter, that's going to take you a while. 1) Democracy, 2) Nationalism/Populism, and 3) Welfare in Food, Clothing, Housing and Transportation. ^^Taoju wrote:True. Fight fire with more fire?
Which I find counter intuitive. Taoist philosophy seems to align with the Buddhist way of life far more than Kongzi's fruits of wisdom.
I just find that sticking to Confucian values (Japan and South Korea, looking at you) is a bit counterproductive. And mainly because I believe in flow and peace, and Kongzi's values seem to wage war on the natural way of things by building an unnatural social order that conflicts strongly against present society.
Which is why organizations like the Confucius Society and Confucian University are reviewing his works in a different light to try and modernize them and single out what no longer applies. cx Schools in Taiwan and Guangzhou still hail him as the father of all Oriental scholarship. cx You are right though, that in many ways it does not conflict with what is perceived to be modern society. We are reminded though that he head his own ideals for what modern society would be, and it just happens to differ greatly from the western POV or the liberal perspective. Harmony as Eastern Asia would have it is achieved through propriety; through people knowing their place and acting accordingly from there on. Cultural relativism. ^^
As for the underlined statement, this is disputed. he /did/ heavily base his works off the Yijing and the Book of Odes, so it would almost be calling those unnatural as well. o/ I do not know much about the Odes, but the Yijing did a pretty good job of synthesizing what not only Confucius would, but even Laotze, Zhuangze, Mencius, Sun Tzu and Da Mo (upon founding Shaolin Temple) would use as the basis for their own philosophies. ^^

Of course, they still played all the songs I love in KC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KYSR is great apparently.
