When you see someone cut off a gasoline tanker and hit the brakes so as to pull into a fueling station, and the subsequent lockup of 18 wheels trying to stop, you know that we're in trouble.

Makes you want to scream "7,000 gallons of gasoline! SEVEN THOUSAND GALLONS!!!!" through a bullhorn.

Reminds me of the time I was hauling a trailer-load of steel I-beams to a site I was on.
Cue some dude in a Prius pulling in front of me when I was about 150 feet from where they were pulling onto the highway, and then of course accelerating at the pace of a wet snail (with a good bit of slipping on ice to boot).
Cue me slamming the brakes and the trailer jackknifing into the other lane (thank God nobody was coming).
Thankfully, they seemed to catch the message of the multiple thousands of pounds of steel barreling towards them and very quickly pulled onto the shoulder as I slid past.

Never have I more desired to stop and inform someone as to the monumental nature of their stupidity. But if I had, I may have just been sent to prison.

Actually, maintaining 49 degrees above ambient temperature without strips is pretty damn amazing for a heat pump at this temperature.
