That happened to me in English class the other day.
Both sides of the debate thought we were arguing.
And then the teacher pointed out that we were arguing the same side.
It was confusing.

It's happened to me on a number of occasions as well, even on this forum.

I remember there was a time in the Jewish thread where I stated an opinion of some sort, to be quickly "corrected" by another poster - who basically just rephrased what I said. It was jarring.

I was the one doing the correcting in the case I mentioned. I felt bad afterwards.

You brought out a very interesting point. We do agree a lot, but we always end up discussing HOW bad are things in degrees of bad, because we both agree on it. So basically, we just don't find anything to argue about but about how much things sucked.

At least we slightly disagree on those points. I'm an optimist and you're a fatalist, from what I've gathered. Though it isn't usually very pronounced.
