I've always found French to be easier to keep up with among other languages.

(Also, can I just say, the Spanish language has one of the richest cultural and literary histories in the world. I never realized that during my introductory courses for Spanish, so try to keep that in mind if you're in a basic class and having to make flash cards for verb conjugations or whatever.)

French is easy to keep up with until you get to complex sentences. Yikes. And the idioms, oh god the idioms! :b
