Yes, he won both by a sizable majority and well over the normal 50%+1 mark. So appointing him would be the democratic thing to do.

He also acquired 73.07% not 65% since when counting a vote abstentions don't count to the % otherwise its like a no. So with almost the support of 3/4 's of the senate I think he would be the diplomatic choice.

I'm still considering the solution, so don't worry, there's no decision that's been made yet.

I'd like to cast my vote as petunia.

That is all.

It's not a joke. It's a completely serious bill.

I know, it means I have a dilemma on my hands. Shoot my great apes now when the bill might not pass or risk an ecological disaster by releasing them into an unnatural habitat that could upset the current eco system. Think what happened to Australia and their rabbit problem or the snake problem in Florida. That's what happens when one introduces animals that should not be there into the wild.

I will probably have them shot about an hour before the bill passes at this rate.

It fails to tackle the serious problems of poaching. Utilising the Ministry of International Development would be a far more effective tool.

Nope, the bill explicitly excludes the act of hunting from being a criminal offence. Try again.

"Nothing in this bill shall be interpreted as criminalising the hunting of animals classified as game."

Emphasis on "classified as game".

Again, Complicity in 1st Degree Animal Abuse.

Its up to the senate to classify game and to expressly specify animals not classified as game. The senate has not said that Great apes can't be considered game therefor it is legal to hunt them (unless this bill at vote passes.)

The REA II has no provision for a vote for the PpT, thereby making it just up to the VP to appoint the PpT. Licen, it's your call and there's no vote necessary.

That's not how it works. Everything that isn't explicitly classified in a category isn't part of that category. Therefore, great apes aren't game, and it's illegal to hunt them.

In that case, I would like to go back to my original choice, and appoint Senator Tom Schmidt (New Bierstaat) as President pro Tempore. My sincerest apologies for the confusion here; that's what I get for looking through the Senate archives, and not remembering recently passed acts. At least I won't forget about the REA II anymore...

No they are what is commonly called big game. they are game. That's how the law work's, it's legal to do something until a law is made preventing it. Therefor hunting Great apes is legal as they are considered to be big game.

The law clearly states "Nothing in this bill shall be interpreted as criminalising the hunting of animals classified as game".

No government body classified great apes as game, therefore it's not, and hunting them is an offence.

Your "common definition" is legally worth nothing.
