I'm incredibly excited for the general election, but I'm also nervous because I know Labour have a chance at getting to power which would screw our economy up big time.

Would you like it if Boris Johnson defected to UKIP ahead of the election? Or would you prefer him to remain with the Tories so he can replace Cameron as PM?

God I hope Boris doesn't become PM, he's too crazy.

What the Tories lack is a good, strong leader. Cameron is pathetic, Osborne is pathetic, May makes me cringe, Hague has had his chance, Gove is useless etc.

There might be a good backbencher somewhere, but I struggle to think of a cabinet member who would make a good PM.

That's for a variety of reasons. One the differing effects of proportional and first past the post, two that the three main parties seem to enjoy the power of Europe so people from both left and right have no option but to vote UKIP if they want a serious anti-EU voice in Strasbourg. When it come to general elections though most people don't see the connect that it would in fact be the PM who could pull us out. If the poll ratings of those who want out off the EU transcended party politics in a general election and they all voted for UKIP they would win a landslide and we could be out just a few months later. You see at a national level there is still a lot of Labour, Tory tribalism. Though with members of both parties defecting to UKIP 2015 is going to be interesting and could be a break through year on a national level.

That's tough, I know he could really further the UKIP cause if he defected but then again I think he would make a better PM than Cameron. Let's not forget London is a Labour city overall so for him to win there was quite something (twice I might add) and I know his constituents in Henley liked him as their MP. I think he would if there was a coup today (and an MP stood down so he could run) have a better chance than Cameron of bringing a majority Tory government.

I think UKIP has more chance of happening, I don't think there is a chance of a coup at the moment. I would love him to be PM though, he just has that quality most great statesmen have, it's not something you can really quantify or describe. He is outwardly passionate about his country, he has an infectious energy, he makes you feel positive, he makes you feel upbeat, he gives to those who have seen him at work a positive outlook on the future. He just has this infectious positivism, he has pride in his country and not ashamed of that unlike most of our recent PM's and many politicians since the 80's (I include both sides of the house in that). He more than any other politician can make Britain Great again as a nation with pride and determination, as JFK once did for America or Churchill or Thatcher for us. There are a few others I can think of as well.

He would not have won two terms as mayor of London if he was rubbish and not working for the city as a whole, the trouble he has is outside of those who know him as their MP or Mayor caricature tends to shape opinions of the masses. I have no doubt though that he would bring a revolution to current Tory thought and turn away from this current privatisation of the NHS for example. He has been a vocal critic of may of the governments policies. But as I say his caricature precede him. Most people take that as a bad thing.

My history classes this year are on Europe and the Middle East from around -5000 to 1492.

I have 'The USA from 1917-1951, 'Boom', Bust and Recovery', and 'How did Individuals Affect Relationships Between The Great Powers in The Period 1871-1991?' Last year I had 'The (British) Experience of Warfare, 1854-1919', 'Stalin's Russia, 1924-1953' and 'Ideology, Conflict and Retreat: The USA in Asia, 1950-1980'. Last year can, in other words, be summarised as 'War, The Musical Lesson'. We did Crimea, 2nd Boer, WWI, 'Great Patriotic' (WWII), Korea and Vietnam.

What with it being a Modern History A Level.

You know, unless my assumption that he was the First Secretary of the entire Bolshevik Party which represented the entirety of the Soviet Union rather than the Russian SFSR. Stalin was head of a political party and had high rank in its militant wing--that somehow means everything belongs to him? ;.;. I like misleading titles.

Pretty much it, along with other local trains. The CTA is introducing new commuter trains, I am heading a Maglev Project but other than that nothing has changed since independence as far as I know.
