I only know Chinese from family stuff though, so I can speak conversationally but not much more, and a very small written vocab. And learning Latin, fun I am learning French too, but am ditching it for IT and commerce. I also knows snippets of lots of German and bits of Spanish and stuff I like languages

Our school doesn't teach that, and not many people really speak that. :/ Only other language is Indonesians, which is kinda... honestly, useless. Australia has close ties to Indonesia, but they aren't quite a growing power. I'd think Spanish or Arabic might be more useful. With French, Spanish, English & Chinese, it's possible to talk to nearly everybody on earth.

I'd have reason to believe that Standard Chinese/Mandarin, Spanish and MSA(Modern Standard Arabic) are the most widely spoken.
