It's Rosh Chodesh, which means that additional prayers called 'Hallel' are added, Hallel means praise and are supposed to be sung joyously.
However people were too 'busy' to be singing, so Hallel was rushed through with no song, no joy, and no appreciation of what the day was.
And this time, I voiced my opinion, and the response I was given was I was correct and it should not happen again.
Which is good, I guess.
Sounds awful.
How many holidays/celebrations do you guys have?
It's like a different one every week.
Interestingly enough we do have a holiday every week, it's the Sabbath.
Also interestingly enough this month is called 'Chesvhan' or 'Marcheshvan' (mar meaning bitter) there are no holidays besides the Sabbath and Rosh Chodesh.
