I'm currently reading "Gingerbread Man", and so far so good. But the romancing section detracts from the story, which quite good.

whats the premise?

Two small children are found murdered, quite gruesomely. At the scene of the crime a book is found called "The Gingerbread Man". When the detective in charge discovers that the book comes from Dilmun NY, he goes there following a hunch. He meets Holly Newman, who lost her sister Ivy, probably to the same killer of the children in Syracuse. And shit hits the fan when they realize the man bind bats who supposedly confessed to the murders is probably not the murderer.
