It seems that our logo disappeared, and I didn't like the colo(u)r choice on that logo so what do you guys think of this as our new logo?

My Fellow Cavaliers,

As minister of the Environment, I wish to implement a Burning Restriction Act, limiting the amount CO2 in local communities and areas. I was considering limiting burning between 4 and 9 o'clock, with the possible exception of the 5th of November. The amount of products shall also be limited, as well as what is allowed to set alight on a bonfire, this includes disposing rubbish.

I would like the opinions on the members of my party first and foremost.

I like what this act does and I would gladly sponsor it once it's written.

Hum...while I certainly am pro-environment I also live in an area where everyone burns their trash (I just did it an hour ago) and an limit on this is highly impractical due to distance (after all one would have to put in as much CO2 to haul it off as to burn it) etc. As such I would advocate adding some sort of provision allowing such on a small scale without restrictions if you live a certain distance from an urban area/land fill etc. We aren't talking bonfires here more like a metal barrel size. Likewise in more remote places (also where I live) wood fires are of particular importance when heating houses (especially if one runs out of propane...) and if this was included under the ban I would advocate a similar position.

I actually must agree with GOR here.

Popping in agree with GOR too. I too live in the country (in real life) and not burning or having restrictions on what I can burn and what I can dump would just see me have to drive the cuttings and such like from the garden 20 odd miles to the nearest dump. So and such law must be careful to not create more of a problem or cost to people than the current state of affairs.

OOC speaking, I have read over some local laws of the UK concerning burning and it states burning dry wood is allowed, along with other dry materials, which include garden rubbish. Although garden waste should be used into making home-made compost.

Prohibited items for burning will include plastics, rubber and other materials that may hold harmful chemicals.

But as long as the material is dry, burns quickly, does not contain prohibited items and occurs during certain times of day, the law should not affect those who wish to dispose of unwanted wood or garden waste.

Edit: this may be pushing it slightly, but I may request community burnings for certain things, so there is one concentrated fire rather than multiple one, but that may be up for a discussion.

Secondary edit: these are the guidelines I was looking at for the limitation of local burning act (title in progress).

remember this is the OOC me talking :P

Dear Sirs & Madams,

As Prime Minister I have been asked to appoint five government senators to the commission investigating the events of November 23. Since the National Freedom Coalition is a coalition of five parties- the Libertarians, the Classical Monarchists, Reform, National Centre, and the Aurentine Liberals and Moderates- I've decided to ask each government party to nominate an active member from among their ranks to serve on the commission. I don't mind how you pick from among yourselves, just do so as swiftly as possible, please.

Thank you.

Basically how we operate here is 'garden waste' is either feed to the animals or dumped somewhere, "non-burnables" (cans, plastic containers, scrap metal, rubber, etc.) is set aside in a barrel which is taken to the dump twice a year, and the rest is burned besides recycle which is also hauled away a couple times a year.

Concerning community burns where one of my parents grew up they would burn leaves on way day in the fall and one day in the spring which was considered pretty reasonable but if it goes beyond that then it might be problematic.

I have already said I will do so as soon as possible but unfortunately, I have a life. Sometimes, it must take priority over NS.

Those should be recycled.
and what do you mean by 'the rest'?

Leaves don't have to be burned.

Oh remember, since our RP country is a small island country, it is easy to travel, unlike the US.

The distance from the northernmost point to the southernmost point of the country is about the same distance from Milan to Napoli.

Anyway, I will try and come of with a piece of legislation that will benefit the majority of parties. But since, both Nihl and GOR have stated they would not burn non-flammables, I believe this will be al right for the majority of people.

The bill is mainly to target urban and suburban areas, perhaps certain aspects of those living further afield from these areas should have certain exceptions to the rule.

I have no objections either. However, this does not stop others for putting their names forward. If someone else does not put their name forward within 24 hours (from 19:00 GMT), then you may represent out party on the commission.

If someone else does put themselves forward, there will be a 2 day election.

I apologize for my absence folks but I needed a break.

While I'm back on NSG I don't care to return to the Senate quite yet. If, and when, I do return it will, of course, be to the CMP. I've simply not enough spare time at the moment for the Senate.

I must say, it's amusing being Albanian and a monarchist. A Greek friend and I were arguing: Greece vs. Albania. She then says that the Greeks are better because they invented democracy...
