There cannot be a whip on this matter, it is not part of Party platform or policy.

I reiterate, the whip has nothing to do with the bill being about nuclear energy. It is because it is a terrible bill that will create massive bureaucracy, confusion due to lack of coordination between up 600 different nuclear regulatory bodies, and place the nation's security at risk by allowing nuclear fuel to be dispersed in such a situation.

It is not about the nuclear energy, it is because it's a terrible and poorly conceived bill that never should have received sponsorship in the first place.

You would be correct that there was some issue with the manner of your appointment. However we can move on from there. We'll hold a full, party wide, election for the Vice Presidency and all three of our allocated Ministries in the coming days. After the CP has made their picks

Good to know that we're willing to move on from it. If we intend to hold elections for the Vice Presidency, then allow me to announce my candidacy for the position.

Firstly: the bill itself is about Nuclear Energy. I understand your concerns but I cannot move against Nuclear Energy as a person who supports it on principle. Second: It won't pass. There is enough concern. Third: Protect Aurentina from "bad bills" is not part of party policy either. Otherwise our whips would be fully arbitrary.

Yes. The Chairman has no impact on party Whips.

I am just saying we shouldn't allow this whip because it is against our party platform.

Ok, ok... given that we couldn't whip against the NPA because nuclear energy is a free vote, I believe the platform needs to be modified slightly.

Despite our picks not being in yet (because the CP hasn't put theirs in yet, go figure) we are going to start our Ministry and Vice Presidency elections shortly.

VICE PRESIDENCY:
One person will be declared the winner. In this election we will vote by IRV, meaning you will specify a first, second, third, and so on choice for the Vice Presidency on the ballot.

MINISTRIES:
We have three Ministries and this is a little more complicated. So, anyone can declare their candidacy to receive any Ministry. We will vote with each voter receiving three votes on a ballot. Then we will go down the list in order of votes received and either pick a Ministry or forfeit your pick. For example, if candidate A gets 5 votes on 5 ballots then they will go first and if they pick the Ministry of Silly Walks then no other candidate can pick that. Then candidate B with 4 votes will go and if they pick the Ministry of Dogs and Ponies then that is theirs. Candidate C has 2 votes but got elected Vice President so they can't have a Ministry. Then Candidate D also has 2 votes and they pick the Ministry of Smilies.

Any questions should be addressed to me. Nominations begin now and will last for 48 hours. You may run for both the Vice Presidency and a Ministry. If you do not like the remaining options for Ministries you may also decline appointment. If the Vice Presidential nominee decides to take a Ministry position instead then the second most voted individual by IRV will be declared the Vice Presidential nominee.

Adding my interest in becoming Vice President, since it seems the Communist Party will choose the Foreign Ministry, which is the only Ministry I really had my eyes on, unless you guys want to retain me as Minister of Education for a second time.

So it seems like the VP candidates are Licen and Unicario, both of whom I would be delighted to work with. If this party could get said election done before the end of the first round of the presidential elections, that would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I don't see why not, but if the motion succedes I will make an official one and send it from the Red Green account.
