The budget debate is very calm right now. I expected it to be very heated.

I propose we do a tax system where both people of the left and the right can be happy

Not really happy with the 50% tax rate maximum. But that seems to be what compromise has brought us to. I would be happy if it was lower though

Since the people on the left want higher taxes on the rich while people on the right prefer smaller taxes, here's my proposed tax plans.

10% for people making under $100,000 a year
15% for people making between $100,000-249,000 a year
25% for people making at least $250,000 a year.

It should be satisfied because the wealthy still pay a heck of alot more than the other people but it's still small enough that they can open more jobs.

Example
Worker making $50,000 a year, they pay $5,000
Businessman making $170,000 a year, they pay $25,000
CEO making $300,000 a year, they pay $75,000 a year
Actor making $1,000,0000 a year, they pay $250,000 a year

It's fair to the working class, the poor, the middle class, and the 1%

So what do you guys say?

The left aren't happy with it being so low. I seem to be the only one here that's fully happy with it.

Still, Battlion has commanded you to leave the party thread and you would do best to comply with it.

I am sure, however, that if we come to an idea here, we will reveal it in the official thread and ask for opinions :)
But, I would like to ask Battlion to let them at least spectate

Spectate is fine, just no going back to previous topics...

On the tax proposal, I agree it needs more brackets and regarding 50% I am not opposed to it but I'd prefer it to be at 40-45% :)

I would prefer it to be 35% - 40% (And 40% would be like the most painful thing I would do in a compromise).

I still feel like it should be 57.5%, like the Swedish system.

As stated before, I wouldn't go further than 40% (and that's like lowering my standards in taxation). But, it doesn't really matter at this point because a compromise has been reached in the budget debate
