Well, there is none as Seito is still finishing his proposal and EoA and Falmerheim are collaboratively working on an Asylum Seekers bill so there are a few things open for the taking if people wanted to propose ideas :)

Possibly outlawing the ability for a pound to put down animals, unless the specified animal will only be harmed if not put down?

That's a brilliant idea, would you like to draft up a proposal?

If you do, I suggest you find figures and statistics and arguments in favour of your proposal for the debate :)

To the people writing the asylum bill:

Please note Aurentina is a signatory of the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees.

Just an idea.

Anyway, are there any current discussions or Senate bills we are voting on that I should be aware of?

Brilliant, I was about to ask if there was any treaties or conventions we were bound by.

Could you link me to it?

Isn't it sometimes needed for a pound to put down an animal if they don't have room in the pound itself?

But we would have to increase the funding dramatically to the pounds in Aurentine for it to be possible to not put down any animals.

There would be an increased cost because we would need more pounds to keep the animals in (alternatively also expand already existing ones) and the pounds would also need more money for food and for medical supplies for the animals. It's horrible that we have to put down the animals, but if we don't get more people to adopt them or pay more money to the pounds then there aren't any other alternatives.

Funding increase I can support, there is hardly anything there for them.

But the funding would have to be increased dramatically (By several billions in fact) to be able to lower the amount of euthanizations compared to the size of Aurentine. I just don't think that it's economically viable at this point to even consider it.

Possibly an increase year on year, steadily.

We should have it as an eventual goal

I can't say that I can support it until we've established Aurentine as an economic power in the world, due to our current economical situation. (I mean, the deficit we almost fell into was HUGE) Perhaps we can begin to consider this in around 10-15 years.

We already have policies that express "in the long run" and in the "long term" so this would easily be something we can agree with, now the question is would we have it as a policy point or an actual piece of party legislation.

Note the plan for party legislation is that it all goes in one of the OP's and members would be welcome to put it into the coffee shop or chamber as they wish.
