Thank you for clearing that up. I agree that he should have posted his ban history in his app, but a TG is better than nothing.

And still acceptable. Ugh. Wish Malokhi Vai would un-excuse himself from the argument and just end this all.

*recuse

Definition of recuse: Excuse oneself from a case because of a possible conflict of interest or lack of impartiality.

The conflict of interest is that I'm the admin who originally accepted him.

Ah, I understand now. Should I have mentioned it? I guess so.

Yes, you should have.

Thanks, Val. I'm also a bit sad about how you never posted on the Napoleon RP. :( But thank you. Who else is with me? I'm all for taking useless horsecrap and arguing out of the government.

I just find it unfair that Ikania has been denied acceptance into the NSG Senate. Yes, he did have a DEAT, but MV knew this and still accepted him. And for those who don't believe Ikania is Mojave, I have previously vouched for him.

I am going to change my vote to allow him, MV knew about the DEAT and accepted him. That decision should stand although with note that no one with DEAT should be accepted in future.

I think the admins need to clarify their rules, over the last few things so many things have been brought into question.

So I ask nicely that the admins convene and actually AGREE on rules instead of waiting for problems to happen and then lead to things like this.

But the DEAT was the result of a single instance of moderator action, which was a 24hr ban for spamming TET, and then unknowingly posting with a puppet.

Some people here have some awful records, but have never been DEATed, and making a fuss over this one is just plain unfair.

It is not needed, these kind of incidents happen rarely and when they do we manage to agree on it.

For me, DEAT is equivalent to being sentenced to life in prison but being released on parole. That one record overshadows everything else, except hanging (DoS).

DoS is denial of service, right? Your ip could be blocked from NS?

Except that's not everyone's definition.

And I take back what I said about agreeing with you on the DEAT'ing. I think the overall record and offenses should matter more than the DEAT.

That's a completely arbitrary scale.

Take, for example...

Person A has gotten 2 7-day bans in 2 years for flaming.
Person B got a 6hr ban for spamming moderation, and was DEATed for asking what he did wrong.

Is person A or B a worse offender?
