The number is actually on the low side, parliamentary systems like ours with such population sizes usually have upwards of 600 members. The premise of the bill is totally inaccurate and I believe designed to further concentrate power in the hands of an ever decreasing political elite.

Condemnation of Article 6.21 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses
Urgency: High| Drafted by: Geilinor| Category: International Relations | Sponsors:

The Russian Federation has recently passed draconian anti-LGBT(lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) laws, concerning many around the world. The law is based on ridiculous assumptions such as the idea that "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations to minors" endangers society and leads to national unrest. LGBT people in Russia have been unreasonably stripped of the right to express themselves, violating parts of the European Convention on Human Rights. The law could be used to prohibit discussion of LGBT rights and relationships anywhere children might hear it, such as on television. The Russian government has a significant history of restricting the freedom of expression, evidenced by the fact that the European Court of Human Rights fined Russia for violating articles 11, 13, and 14 of the European Convention by banning 164 pride events and marches between 2006 and 2008. The law is also written in a very ambiguous fashion, increasing the risk that it it will be misused in detrimental ways. The anti-gay propaganda law is a discriminatory and dangerous bill that could contribute to homophobia in Russia.

Section 1 - Declaration on Article 6.21 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses
a) This Senate, on behalf of the people of Aurentina, by the majority of all those assembled, condemns Article 6.21 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses, in the strongest possible terms and formally requests that the government of the Russian Federation, stand up for civil liberties, basic human rights and the right to expression by repealing Article 6.21 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses.

Section 2 - Declaration on LGBT asylum seekers
a) This Senate, on behalf of the people of Aurentina, grants LGBT Russian citizens who have had their rights to express themselves and to receive fair treatment under the law honorary citizenship of this nation and blanket protection from any extradition requests made by any source for anything associated with Article 6.21 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses. This senate further grants blanket immunity from prosecution in regards to anything associated with Article 6.21 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses.
b) Asylum may be provided if the person in question has not been convicted of murder, assault, rape, or theft.
ii) By passing of this act, all Aurentine embassies and consulates abroad are required to act to protect LGBT asylum seekers from Russia, using any legal means possible.

The safety of the nation is never something to knowingly limit and anyone that believes otherwise seriously has to re-think why they are putting the safety of the people at risk.

EDIT: I thought you were supposed to be a libertarian?

1. I opposed the war time restriction.
2. The world is not "ever increasingly unstable".
3. Any budgetary law will be able to supplant this bill so we will still be voting on military spending on a yearly basis.
4. The safety of the nation is not compromised by having less than 1 % of the populace in the military.
5. Since when has it been a Libertarian policy to be pro militarization and excessive spending?

I think some anti fascist legislation makes sense not just because IC, such groups are prone to violence and present a threat to democracy and immigrants. But for certain OOC reasons. Simply put, a large community of fascists may scare off RPers of the LGBT and minority communities

Are you saying you want to propose legislature that would restrict what the Aurentine fascist party can and can't do? If so I think we will need to have an admin discussion about if that is OOC'ly acceptable as it would touch on some game mechanics.

On the other hand, I would suggest actually looking at the map before you decide to merge districts. Quite a few of the ones you've proposed here are mergers of already populated districts with nearby well-populated districts, adding even more unproportionality.

I don't think it works like that. But somebody like me, whose biological parents were foreign aliens on vacation, and me being born in Mulenhaim, sent to an orphanage and raised by a couple of Aurentine nationals, I suppose... yeah.

This is a condemnation of Russia's anti-LGBT law. If you need a source for any of the claims made in the preamble, read these sources. http://www.policymic.com/articles/58649/russia-s-anti-gay-law-spelled-out-in-plain-english

Honestly I am not sure. But this bill doesn't mention that case, nor would it have any effect on the status of such peoples.

So the German, UK, French, Russian, Turkish, Italian, Spanish etc etc etc don't count as they all weigh in at between 550 and 1000 members?
