It's something called nationalism. Their nationalism gets in the way of how I want the EU to be a multi-national unified state, with every government answering to Brussels. I hope it keeps heading that direction.

Admittedly, I'd like for my vote to count for a bit more in Brussels before that happens.

The corruption that's been there since 1991 (which the EU is reducing in Poland)? EU's fault. Sagging economy that's always been shitty? (with Poland actually better now than it was before) Blame the EU. It's like they can't accept responsibility for the national failures because it hurts their pride too much.

Zealous nationalism is always fun.

I'd prefer a less democratic EU. A parliament is something that a sovereign state has. The council of ministers on its own is perfectly adequate for the kinds of things the EU should be doing.

I'd want a centralized EU with authority over all member states but I don't see how people will cease their complaints and support the EU unless they believe it can be democratic. The end goal is course for the EU to have supreme authority, and if it takes a bit of democracy to get that far, then that's how it is.
