Russ Mackay walked into the bar, and turned to the barman.

"I expect they'll be a few people expecting pints on my tab over the next few days. Take this." Russ handed his debit card over to the man. "Put them all on that; I'll be back to collect it in a few days."

Zephaniah, the former senator entered the bar and hung up his blue great coat and approached the bar. "A pint in Mackay's name." he said leaning on the bar.

A man entered the pub, dressed in a casual business outfit. A slightly altered gait and the lack of arm movement on his left side hinted at the Sig Sauer P229 hidden beneath. Another man dressed similarly sat down on one of the seats situated outside of the bar's entrance and began casually reading the newspaper.

The man inside the pub hailed a server and ordered a coke, settling into a booth near the back with a clear view of the pub's interior and patrons.

"I don't think he ever really wanted that kind of power, to be honest; he told me he only really accepted the Vice President position because it was a temporary thing, and because he wanted to help President Porunalakai after Vebussy left his position. Nonetheless, I'm sure he would apreciate the sentiment."

Senator Kruger's motorcade pulled into the street outside of the pub. Three black Jaguar XJ Sentinels and one unmarked Range Rover, all driven by special forces close protection drivers, pulled to a stop outside the pub's entrance. Kruger stepped out of the door that was opened for him and into the pub, watched always by the plainclothes security detail that waited inside.

As the motorcade pulled away (it would be waiting in a nearby garage), Kruger ordered a pint "in memory of Senator Mackay."

"Not a clue, to be perfectly honest. Me and Ally weren't interested in standing for the Red-Greens in his place, but I'd imagine it'll be a Red-Green that wins it. I've heard the guy's who's running for them is Stefan Furnes. Scandinavian guy, seems like he'll do well if he gets elected. I presume a few other parties will put up candidates, but Sant Anders tends to vote ProgCoa."

"Like I said, he's Scandinavian originally; Norwegian, if I remember rightly. He's got similar political ideas to my father. He was mentored by my father for a while actually, groomed to be his successor, I suppose. My dad knew me and Ally never cared for politics. I seem to remember him being quite the drinker. Besides that, he looks after himself."
