Hi! I'm Senate President pro Tempore. If you would like to join the Senate, please sign up with an application here. You have to have been on the NS forums for at least a month. After you've submitted an application and it has been accepted, feel free to come back to this thread to join. You will be a part of the Progress Coalition as a member of the Market Socialist Party, if you are accepted. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me (Venaleria) or any other Senators around. Welcome to the Senate!

Stole the words from my mouth. Tatras, you're more than welcome if you want to become a senator with the party. I'm a bit inactive at the moment, being on holiday, but feel free to make yourself at home if you want

Ainin's a respected member of our coalition, he's free to hang around. That said, we have an activity problem within the party. Even Mytannion hasn't posted in ages, just me and you at the moment Raven. Any ideas on how to sort it out?

Mass recruitment SIR! Can I also offer another idea. After ten people join and we are official can we hold an election for chairman.

Yeah, I have a recruitment template on my laptop at home. Can't do that at the moment, will do soon. As for elections, it was planned but never talked about as I think becoming official will be a hard task and a long way away.

I'm just saying if we want to stay democratic we need to have elections later on.

Sure, I would be a hypocrite to run a dictatorship in this party while claiming to support democracy.

Coalition members, I need your input on the proposed cabinet laid out by Britanno. If everyone isn't ok with it, I won't give my approval. I do think, however, that it's the best plan going forward for this coalition and this country. Please reply here ASAP.

Guys, thoughts on Britanno's cabinet? I am happy enough with it, partly because I get Foreign Affairs, but input would be nice as it's an important decision.

My views are that it would benefit both the party and the coalition, but such a cross-partisan cabinet would be fragile at best.

As Minister of Education, I am here to ask the Market Socialist Party their opinion of Tuition fees for Higher Education as part of the consultation from the Ministry of Education.

Any opinions and contributions are welcome in the Ministry of Education thread.

The concept of free higher education is fairly central to our platform, so we would wholly oppose tuition fees. If they were implemented, we would ask they are as low as possible.

That's something that's in our platform so I'm not going to wait for input, but feel free to state other opinions if you have them.

Are the Market Socialists going to call for a 50% top rate of income tax? I am slightly disappointed with the position of the party on the establishment of a provincial monarchy however >_>

Again, a high income tax rate is essential to the party and therefore we support your proposal of a fifty percent top rate for income tax, though I personally would prefer it to be higher for the rich.

As for my positions of provincial monarchy, those are not of the party and not even the position of me. I was simply attempting to compromise, as a republican, though I would prefer no monarch in any way at all.

I don't think any compromise should be made on the establishment of a monarchy especially since we voted on the foundation of the democratic republic.

True, that's why I'll vote for republican like I did for the REA. However, I was willing to tolerate my proposed amendment instead of having absolute monarchs in the provinces.

You'd vote against the monarchist amendment of the constitution?
