According to Catholics, he is infallible.

Though, isn't that only when he's speicifcly speaking Ex cathedra and not an "anything the Pope says is true no matter what?"

Papal infallibility is a dogma of the Catholic Church which states that, in virtue of the promise of Jesus to Peter, the Pope is preserved from the possibility of error[1] "when, in the exercise of his office as shepherd and teacher of all Christians, in virtue of his supreme apostolic authority, he defines a doctrine concerning faith or morals to be held by the whole Church".[2]

In connection with papal infallibility, the Latin phrase ex cathedra (literally, "from the chair") has been defined as meaning "when, in the exercise of his office as shepherd and teacher of all Christians, in virtue of his supreme apostolic authority, (the Bishop of Rome) defines a doctrine concerning faith or morals to be held by the whole Church".[2]

So, yes, the Pope is infallible, according to the Church, under these conditions. No, he is not completely infallible in anything he says.

Of course, if you choose not to subscribe to Catholic traditions and dogma, disregard.

Noice.

Yeah. I usually do the same. I figured that since I used to hit the snooze button 3 times, if I set my alarm clock back 20 minutes, I'd get up on time. Nope.
