I think the Sensible Firearms Act deals with that particular issue.

May I have a link please?

Because my father was named Freedom, and his father was named Freedom and his father took the name when moving to our country. Personally, I don't see the similarity?

Account Name:Chetssaland
Occupation: Senator
Party Position(s): N/A
Positions in Government: N/A
Constituency: Soledad
Political Ideology: Economic moderate; Social liberal
Family: Wife, 2 daughters, 1 son
Background: Son of a British naval officer and a stay at home mother, he was born on February 4, 1960, and lived in Aurentina most of his young life while his father was stationed there. At age 18, he left Aurentina for the first time to study Chemistry at UCLA. He then went on to earn a postgraduate degree in law at Duke University. After working in business law, specifically in the petrochemical industry, for 23 years in the United States, he moved back to Aurentina in 2009, only a few years before the independence movement began. He organized many fundraisers for the movement, and established strong ties to his local community, who eventually rewarded his efforts by electing him as the first senator to represent Soledad in the newly formed nation.
Faith: Nonreligious
Likes: Mixed market, responsible safety net, nuclear power, individual liberty, friendly business policies, separation of church and state, LGBT rights, funding science research, mountain climbing, sailing, golf, bowties
Dislikes: Government obtrusiveness, fundamentalism, extremism, racism, affirmative action, spying on civilians, elitism, stubbornness
Any Questions from the Public to be answered?
  • *ADD QUESTION*
What is the most important thing Aurentina must do to advance its position in the world? Well, this question is based on the assumption that, as a nation, we must actively seek to promote our interests globally. Under that assumption, I would undoubtedly say that we must continue to make Aurentina one of the most important seaports in the world, and encourage foreign and domestic investment into our economy. It's my belief, however, that we should not be actively gauging our international weight. If we simply focus on maintaining the freedoms of the individual while also advancing the common good, everything else will be a walk in the park.

I welcome any other questions for the senator

Owning a rocket launcher is not illegal.

It really should be....

Disagreed. Ownership is an arbitrary place to draw the line; what if the launcher is non-functional, or is firmly locked up for display purposes with no ammo? Why not just make production, sale, loaded transfer, firing and/or smuggling of the launchers illegal, and all production/transfer of the ammo illegal? That way, existing hobbyists and museums can donate launchers to each other without anyone being allowed to risk blowing anyone up. Criminalizing mere possession of a thing which (without ammunition) is not inherently dangerous sets a bad precedent IMO.

Explosive material? Radioactive material? That's a different story.

With the lack of a unified forgien policy in the government as of now what do you think would be threat course of action in the way of how are nation should act and preform on the international stage? And how do you thing are nation should handle the recorded 44 ongoing armed conflicts around the world ranging from bloody civil wars to low level insurgencies.

Neutrality. (Not 'armed neutrality', which is where one can be dragged into war without being directly attacked, but has no definite starting point.) We have too many pro- and anti-NATO senators to contribute meaningfully to global-scale international armed conflicts. That being said, as a Communist I would of course prefer we support struggles for inclusive, democratic, compassionate societies of equal opportunity. It's a political minefield out there, though. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to provide a safe place for anti-state and anti-militarist speech along with the other perspectives, as well as a safe, well-guarded place for public and secret peace negotiations.

Basically, anything we can do to support a just peace. The only armed interventions I would support would be directly toward this end, and usually only against extreme oppression, the reinstallment of an ancien regime where the people support the revolution, that kind of thing. But I don't think the current Senate would generally agree with me on where to intervene and how. I think it's more important to intervene in civic society than in armed conflict anyway. For example, there is much debate over which armed faction to support in Syria, but there are other organizations fighting for change through means other than war over there.

We should integrate ourselves closely with the west and Join NATO. As to armed conflicts around the world we should focus our attention to the ones either close to us or in strategic locations, and monitor the situation, before deciding on conflict by conflict basis what we should do, if anything.

Most likely the Progressive-Conservatives, since their stances are somewhat similiar to ours. Altough I dislike their policy of partywhips, and I've gotten the impression they've been somewhat sliding from the centre recently. New Social Party would also be an option.

  • What is the Most Important Thing for Aurentine Prosperity? -Aurentina must put itself on the world economic stage to achieve greater prosperity. We need to increase trade on water and establish trade relations with many nations to bring in more money and new products. We also must allow all business, primarily small, to thrive in our economy through limited regulation and even more limited taxation.

Account Name: Yanalia
Occupation: Senator
Party Position(s):
Chairman

Positions in Government:
President Pro Tempore

Constituency: Ältfoort
Political Ideology: Democratic socialism
Family: None
Background: Tom was born into a wealthy, hat-manufacturing family. His parents were highly conservative. During his youth, he became exposed to various leftist ideologies. These seemed to him better and more rational than the politics his family supported. He argued frequently with his parents as a child, which only served to drive him further into the left. Eventually, he became estranged from his parents, although they still attempted to finance his college education, an offer which he refused. Though he had initially planned to study computer science in college, his dealings with his parents caused him to turn to politics. Under British rule, he was a tireless activist for the working class and a representative in local government. When his parents retired, ownership of the hat company passed to him, which he quickly transformed into a worker-owned business. He is currently the elected leader of the business, and takes great care to listen to the workers at all times. He refuses any more money than his workers receive, and so lives very modestly. When the nation gained indepedence, Tom joined the Red-Greens and was elected to the Senate. Today, Workers' Hats manufactures the necessary hat products for daily Senate affairs.

    What?
    To all senators…

What is your opinion on the weaponisation of space and actively use it in war? For example to create an obrital missile platform which uses nuclear "rods from gods" to bombard cities or to use the apparently fictitious Orion battleships to bombard Aurentina's enemies.

I strongly oppose the weaponisation of space, especially in the current state of our nation. Firstly, we have no need of such destructive weaponry as we have no mortal enemies as far as I know. Further, space is a great opportunity to promote cooperation between all humans, not more violence. We should be sponsoring international efforts to further our knowledge of the extraterrestrial, not weaponizing it so we can kill even more people.
