Their actions are violent, illegal, and deplorable. Yet they are not unprovoked, nor are they cowardly. The President says we are fighting a war: I agree. And war means fighting, and killing. The Mafia is simply willing to do anything to protect its business, much more than most businesses would. They have set rules, however, codes and rituals that have been followed for decades, if not centuries. They are loyal, and willing to give their lives for their Family. As reported by the Senator's Dispatch, the execution of Senator Kourie was, in fact, done in a dignified way, for the mob. They respected the man, because he had power. That is what they respect: power and loyalty. Their definition of 'honour' might be different, but it still exists.
