Abortion is arguably not medically necessary. SRS on the other hand is a critical surgery to many in a minority that already faces heavy discrimination, to which this amendment plans to institutionalize by providing sub-par medical coverage to trans people simply because a handful of ignorant senators refuse to acknowledge the fact that psychological health is every bit as important as more "traditional" medical care.

We're apparently not going to see eye-to-eye on this issue. We'll just have to see how the vote turns out.
