When did we become independent and has any other former British colony decided to embrace the American 'ideals'? Recently and no are the answers. Why would a former British colony try to emulate the Americans anyway? What have the Americans done that is so magical that an entire country would try to ignore three or four centuries of history?

Canada drives on the right. And the U.S. was formerly a British colony.

Anyway I wasn't talking about EVERYTHING, just some things. Of course we shouldn't adopt U.S. customary measurements or something else silly that Americans like me do, but ambulances might be a different story.

Well of course, and I'm not saying I don't go out and research it, but the majority don't. Yes we mustn't forget our pappy. Since we have self-rule we don't have to be like the Brits in every way.

Actually America didn't come up the with the Interstate system. And Rumostan, you don't have to have states to have an Interstate system. It's only called that because it goes through many states. You can call it a highway, freeway, whatever. Germany was the first to pioneer the Highway system with Hitler's construction of the Autobahn. The light bulb was invented by American Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison invented the long-burning filament. Funny, the nuclear warhead was created between the genius works of two German scientists who immigrated to America. Showing that Americans are mixed of everything.

America may not be good to copy in all ways, but they do have the best rated trauma centers in the world and a highly efficient fire service. The Federal Agencies are also among highly regarded national law enforcement agencies.

As a bunch of islands, there isn't much in the terms of development we can do at this point, which is why I proposed buying Mediterranean islands to allow for further growth.
