Hippo had an update map numbering the remaining islands. If an island is grayed out, that means its not a part of the country.

The telephone perhaps? Or maybe the light-bulb? Or affordable automobiles? Or the nuclear warhead? Or maybe the interstate system? Maybe even the Panama canal?
