Since my views haven't changed since 10AM, a quick repost of my electoral speech:

Good morning/afternoon/evening, ladies, gentlemen and bonobos.

I would like to start off this speech by congratulating our party for getting so quickly back on track. Even at such a dark time, we manage to prosper!

Chairman Divair's resignation was a shock to all of us, and comes at a fragile time for Aurentina, a time where we are still trying to pass key legislation, and where dangerous paramilitary organizations are on the rise. Fellow Senators, it doesn't matter what party you are, whether you are LibDem, TR, ProgCon, Communist, Monarchist, it is not the time for pointless partisan bickering and mudslinging. We must unite in a common cause, to build up our fledgling government system.

In the coming months, I wish to cooperate with both parties that share our views, and parties that don't, on a pan-Aurentinan solution to our current problems, a solution for the next generation to enjoy, and a decisive mark to be left on the face of our Earth. A mark of equality, freedom, justice! A world where we can all look back and say: "We did a good job".

I cannot stress enough how much multipartisan cooperation will be critical in such a massive project. Continued cooperation between the progressive centre-left and centre-right, through any and all channels, will be endlessly important in the coming volatile months. We need to think about the future, and what world we want to leave behind for the next generation, and beyond!

Second speech:

Divair had always been a calm head in debates on NSG, a forum where the word sanity applies as much as peace-loving applies to North Korea. Many have fond memories of him, and I still remember him as the guy who showed off his brand new Microsoft Surface Pro 128GB i5 6GB RAM Hybrid Tablet/Laptop in the Eternal Thread, which I am still jealous of.

But that is the past. It came as a profound shock to all of us when he left, so quickly, so surprisingly. Today is a proof that our party remains strong against whatever challenge life can throw at us [life's a bitch]. We become stronger with every second that passes. The problem? All the other parties too. Which is why we must find a multipartisan solution to the problems and issues that plague Aurentina today, and in the future. We want to be able to leave a positive legacy, for all to enjoy!

This is where I for all intents and purposes stop causing havoc by being the interim chairman, a position, as today clearly showed, I'm neither suited nor willing to hold. Divair left us, but his party lives on. And we're going to elect a new chairman, right here.
