Seeing as the only current divide we have on the Secret Police bill is how hard it will be to erase it’s mention from history, I’m just gonna go ahead and submit the first draft for what is basically a more detailed 2nd Amendment.
Statement The right of the people to possess, use and carry firearms shall not be infringed by any state, federal or other governmental authority. And while the right of the people to bear low-power explosives/artillery may be infringed, it shall not be prohibited in most circumstances*. Also not infringed is the right of the people to affix these weapons upon any frame that they wish, so long as they have the consent of the object’s owner.
Definitions; Defines firearms as any weapon with a projectile diameter of less than six point three five (6.35) centimeters, a projectile length of less than ten point one six (10.16) centimeters and utilizes a short combustion cycle to propel said projectile out of the weapon and towards a target. These may take the form of pistols, rifles, shotguns and large ‘sniper’ rifles. If the ammunition carries an explosive, poisonous or otherwise exotic payload the ammunition is to be governed by a seperate piece of legislation.
Defines low-power explosives as any explosive material with an explosive force of less than ten kilograms (22 pounds) when shaped into a regular cube measuring 1cm3 before detonation. Upon and after detonation it may not leave behind any harmful chemical, biological or radiological residue/effects upon the environment.
Defines artillery, for the purpose of this bill, to be any weapon with a projectile diameter above 6.35 centimeters.
Defines the circumstances under which a member of the populace’s right to bear low power exposives and artillery as legal charges. Unless otherwise stated, instant confiscation, a ban from owning such weapons again and selling the confiscated materials back onto the free market is the penalty. The legal charges applicable are as such; conspiracy to commit murder (with the weapon(s)), manslaughter (four month suspension, official training upon proper use), murder (with the weapon(s)), armed robbery (with the weapon(s)), rape (wherein the weapon(s) were used to coerce the raped party) or property destruction (with the weapon(s)).
Furthermore it shall take no less than a vote of 75% confidence at the minimum in order to repeal this bill.

Anything I screwed up monumentally with? Should there be tighter regulations on fully automatic weaponry (which, according to this draft, are governed the same as semi-auto weapons), anything anyone within this party would like to add/take away? Loop holes?

I know I am not a member of your party, but I will offer input.

6.35 cm is pretty huge. Under that kind of legislation, pretty much all auto-cannons would be legal.

Personally, I would draw the line where the USA has, and restrict/regulate all weapons that fire projectiles over 0.5 inch or 12.7mm in caliber (except shotguns or shotgun shells which are generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting purposes), and any explosive, incendiary, or poison gas, bomb, grenade, rocket having a propellant charge of more than 4 ounces, missile having an explosive charge of more than 1/4 ounce, mine or similar device.

After around 12.7mm, cartridges start to take leaps and bounds in power. A 14.5×114mm cartridge has twice the muzzle energy of a 12.7x99mm cartridge, and a 20mm cannon can have up to 4 times as much.

Otherwise, that bill sounds good to me.

My fellow Imperials, I am here to announce that we have entered into an official alliance with the Classical Monarchist Party, which we have called the Stalhelm Alliance. They are welcome in our thread, and us in theirs.

We're proud to be working with you. Thanks to our decision to formalise this alliance, the far-right just got a whole lot stronger.

As an aside, when they hear about this alliance, all policemen in our nation will probably start petitioning their senators to oppose the anti-gun and anti-paramilitary bills. I mean, would you want to be sent after us? I feel just terrible for the first guy who gets that job.
