Presidential elections are ongoing. Much of the party are abstaining due to their objections to the presidential system. If you do vote, party line is to vote for Sen. Zweite Alaje.

They'll ban paramilitaries if we do that. Make the accident involve a small plane- we all know those have a poor safety record.

Chairman, if I intended to overrule the chairman of the Party every time they did something I disagreed with I would not have bothered to step down in the first place. Nor will I exercise my authority to cancel the "Stalhelm Alliance" although I do not believe it would be outside my remit to do so. It is true that it is the Chairman's prerogative to arrange electoral alliances and deals with other parties- however, this is not the same as establishing what is effectively a union between our parties. Entering into such an organisation should have been passed by myself and the Party Congress first.

Likewise, I recognise that in a radical Left-leaning senate, the far right represents our best hope for cooperation on conservative issues. I do not believe that this alliance is necessary nor desirable, however. What you call "isolation", I call "independence"- the ability to decide our own policy and negotiate independently with other parties, still cooperating with the NIFP on social issues and areas where we agree while remaining free to oppose any positions we disagree with. Tying ourselves permanently to the NIFP severely limits our options. What's more, I do not like, trust or respect the NIFP. Let's not forget that they failed to support us on the Monarchy Bill, and in fact I said then and there that in future that would make cooperation between our parties difficult.

As a member of the party, I am entitled to give my opinion, and I have done so. With all due respect to Chairman Irredento, I remain opposed to this development.

I do apologise. I was under the impression that you were speaking from a position of authority and not merely giving your opinion on the matter. I do respect your opinion and, in fact, were a majority of the party to show themselves to be opposed to us entering into this coalition, I would be willing to take drastic action to pull out of it. I do believe it is in our best interests however.

For example, you brought up the monarchy bill. I believe it is quite clear that no party other than our own overwhelmingly supported that bill and so to use that as a reason not to work closely with any of them would indeed leave us isolated. The difference this alliance makes is that, in the event of another monarchy bill, we will in fact have the full support of the NIFP behind us. I see this as a good thing.

I have talked to the Chairman of the NIFP and believe we fully understand each other's positions, meaning that our alliance will jointly put forward bills on which we agree, but should either of our parties move in a direction with which the other disagrees, it won't necessarily be binding. However, I think we can rest assured that, given the similarities between our parties where social issues are concerned, this won't even come up. The NIFP isn't going to put our alliance in jeapordy by expecting us to support things like abortion and homosexual marriage anytime soon.

I would also point out that we are not permanently tying ourselves to a much larger party. Rather, this is an alliance of equals. Any limits on us apply equally to them. Furthermore, I would argue that this alliance is just as capable of working with non-alliance members as we were previously.

As much as you might not be threatening to overthrow me over this decision to join an alliance, I would still like to convince you, as our Lord President and founder of the Party, that it will be good for us in the longterm. Although I might not be able to convince you yet, I hope to be able to do so in time.
