Clearly you are a minor that has never had to deal with HM revenue and customs before. Trust me on this they are capable screwing up some pretty basic and obviously self explanatory things. Don't go through life think everyone is a clever as you. There are some pretty big Muppets out there, the people on NS are for the most part above your average human being.

I am 32 years old. In any case, what does my age have to do with anything? You have not addressed anything I asked. HM Revenue and Customs are not the ones administering our taxes.

This is, without question the most simple, cheapest, and easier to administer proposal of anything we have seen.

National Tax Act-Alternate

Urgency: Very High

Drafted By: Geilinor

Co-Sponsors: Evraim, Wolfmanne, Gallup

The government of our yet to be named nation:

RECOGNIZING: the necessity of taxation if the state and government are to be sustained and preserved

ESTABLISHING: a national code of taxation applicable to all citizens and residents, without exception, unless otherwise authorized by the Senate

DEFINING: legal nonmedical drugs as substances, with the exception of foods and non-alcoholic beverages, employed for purposes other than those approved by medical professionals for the treatment of aches, smarts, and illnesses, and which are lawful to possess and use in the aforementioned capacities

MANDATING: that the Senate begin the process of determining which drugs should be legal and which drugs should not be legal with all due urgency

STIPULATING: that the tax code shall operate as follows:

Income Taxes shall be levied at:
0% of income earned between 0.00 and 15,999.99 NSC shall be levied
5.00% of income earned between 16,000.00 and 30,999.99 NSC shall be levied
10.00% of income earned between 31,000.00 and 50,999.99 NSC shall be levied.
15.00% of income earned between 51,000.00 and 100,999.99 NSC shall be levied
25.00% of income earned between 101,000.00 and 250,999.99 NSC shall be levied
35.00% of income earned between 251,000.00 and 500,999.99 NSC shall be levied.
40.00% of income earned between 501,000.00 and 1,000,999.99 NSC shall be levied
45.00% of income earned between 1,001,000.00 and 2,000,999.99 NSC shall be levied.

Sales Taxes shall be levied at:
Essential services(food, utilities): 0%
For nonessential services(including legal nonmedical drugs): 7.25%
For gasoline: 2.50%
For publications, admission tickets to cultural events: 2.00%
It's silly to tax nonmedical drugs less than gasoline and computers or cell phones.

Miscellaneous Taxes shall be levied at:
For corporate tax: 13.00%
For capital gains tax: 20.00%

With all due respect, that is not my decision to make, Senator. I am a mere co-sponsor, and I feel it unsavory to accept credit for a resolution which I did not propose. Geilinor exercises sole discretion over this bill. She (or he) came up with the framework, and she (or he) must send the telegram. If she (or he) elects not to do so, I imagine more negotiations will be necessary.

They actually are. The average income will (probably) lie in the bracket that is taxed at 15%. Effectively, the highest rates most will be taxed at is 15%, and that's not even for their entire income.

I prefer this and really wish you would have just sent it to the chamber in that form.

I will say that I most certainly do not support a high 35.00% tax rate on people earning between 251,000.00 and 500,999.99 NSC and feel that this attempt at more progressive taxation will only hurt the economy in the long term. The original proposal was fine as it was and this is not an improvement in my opinion.
