The Alliance for the Formation of a Ruling Inter-party Coalition Agreement
"Sense and sensibility."

I, Senator Gordano Lysandus of the Red-Green Party, call upon the Red-Greens, the Totally Stoned Party, the Liberal Democrat Party, the Progressive-Conservative Party, the Classical Monarchist Party, sympathetic Independents and ANY OTHER party, outside of the Communists and the Coalition of Freedom and Enterprise, to come together and take steps towards forming a ruling coalition. We need a government. The Senate needs order and direction. We must cooperate, as we have before on the tax bill, to form an effective and functioning government.

We have seen how both the Communists and the CFE have rejected pragmatic compromise and have rejected cooperation for the greater good of our nation. Members of both parties pulled out of backing the tax bill as a childish protest for not getting exactly what they want. We must come together now, when our nation is at its weakest, to do the best thing for our beloved nation and its people.

Put aside your grudges, put aside any old beef that you have. We must have a plan for the future and so here it is, AFRICA, with the intent of forming a coalition that can lead our nation out of the dark ages, out of the anarchy around us, and into an age of new ideas and enlightenment!

    Gordano Lysandus
    Wolfmanne
    The Spiral Future
Glasgia (and the Market Socialist Party)

Welcome aboard! :)

Thank you for generalizing us and pretending you know us, Gordano.

I actually quite like this history as it allows the Monarchists to have a legit claim to establishing Monarchy and not make it as much of an uphill battle for them. I still support Republicanism, but a nation can have a monarchical history and be a Republic (see: France).

I plan on adding a Republican claim later, as we're only ay 612 at the moment.

There was a marriage bill that allowed gay marriage (plus incest, polygamy and any sort of marriage really between adults) and which the majority of Classical Monarchists who did vote, voted against. However, there was no whip against it. We were still getting organized at that point.

I'm of a similar position, except I tend to think on myself as a conservative as on the issues that I am conservative, I'm really conservative. And I don't find too much difficulty assimilating my Left-wing/social democratic ideas into my High Tory traditionalist conservatism due to the precedent set by the Rerum Novarum, Bismarckian welfare and Disraeli's One Nation Conservatism. Not to mention arch-conservative Klemens von Metternich's ideas of "conservative socialism".

I largely consider myself left-wing. There are things that I am conservative in, and quite conservative at that. But on the other hand I am liberal, and can be quite liberal in those regards.

I believe, had there been one, I'd have chosen a more liberal Monarchist party. However, I do feel comfortable with the decision to join the CM.

Recruiting from my party, Gordano, will not win you my support for your coalition.

I don't want your party in AFRICA to be honest, especially after you stated that you will not work with me.

While I am thankful for the offer, I've committed to the CM party and I believe I shall stand by that commitment. Should things go sour in the future I shall reconsider your kind offer, but at the moment I feel it is not proper to do so. Apologies.

I suppose. Might end up joining the Red-Greens.
It's rather ironic given that I was against the foundation of their party at the beginning.
