I honestly don't think they're in any position to do much. Previous revolutionary ideas were just made by one person, usually from poor backgrounds. Elon Musk himself has a lot of money, has quite a reputation, lots of legal power (mostly because of his money), and has already established a very large company around his revolutionary ideas.

I like your optimism, let's hope for the good of all of us that my pessimism won't be justified.
